The song "Happy Together" has successfully annoyed every last American. Now the tune has so bent someone out of shape, they're suing.
The company that owns the rights to the record claims Ford did not have the right to use The Turtles' 1967 hit in a commercial. The sinking motor company had struck a deal to use the words and music from the song in Brazil and Argentina, but the song owner insists Ford violated its Turtle rights.
The suit is for more than $200,000 in damages.

(Page 1 of 1)I knew those guys in the 79's and no way would they sell out to the man!!! lol
Ford wanted a song with a Bullet.............. May they could of used the Mudshark tune..........
Yea, Flo & Eddie. They also sang backup for T Rex on Bang a Gong, and on Hungry Heart for Bruce.
It was officially Florescent Leech and Eddie, but shortened to Flo and Eddie. They could sing, though.
I have seen the Turtles on numerous occasions and was never disappointed. They are a great example of classic American rock music and a fun partying band. Flo and Eddie ROCK!!!
I must admit I now have abit more insight to the dynamics as to how the commercial side of the music business works. "The "new" Turtles (Mark and Howard) have a very costly Melrose Place LAWYER!
Melrose Place is in LA for you out of area fans. Most of the proceeds from the licensing of the music go to pay legal counsel to help keep all involved parties out of trouble.
Sorry I did not see this TMZ news article years ago. But sometime timing is everything. Just like music.
