"5th Grade" Winner Goes Belly Up

Kathy Cox may be smarter than a 5th grader, but she's now just as broke as one.

Kathy won $1 million on "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" in September. But here's the deal. She donated her winnings to charity, banking on her husband's construction biz which apparently had been running just fine. But his construction company tanked with the economy, and now they've declared bankruptcy.

Another happy George W memory. 57 days and counting.

61. Thanks, Kevin, but you think wrong. I do not hate Obama, and I've not written anything close to saying that. I hate uniformed Obama supporters, who are openly Bush haters, and who create arguments out of their own bile instead of actual information. Such as your reference to racist.

Look it up, use information, Kevin. The past eight Civil Rights Acts have been fought hard by the LEFT and pushed by the right. Including the one put forth by JFK, who died before he got past the democrats. And you think you're clever and intelligent by referring to Bush or me or Republicans as racist.

LOOK IT UP before you suffocate from your head being up your ass. And I agree, she could have saved some of it.

62. George W memory -- wrong! It is a Clinton administration memory staring in 1999 trying to give homes to who couldn’t afford it raising Debit to income ratio -- it takes about7- 8years for a person to over extend and go bankrupt. It all tumbled from there from Dem everyone is entitled but doesn’t have to work(spread the wealth) for it attitude. How ignorant of TMZ to blame the mortgage fiasco on George W but that kind of ignorance and head in the sand is what helped Obama win!

64. What this woman did she did from wanting to help others unfortunately it turned out bad for her. But to blame Bush for it is stupid and to call us racist because we didn't vote for Obama is stupid. I happen to have friends of every color and i didn't vote for Obama because he is a socialist and for those of you who think Bush was bad just wait tell this one starts taking away what freedoms you have . Also for you who say we're racist because we didn't vote for Obama does it make you racist because you didn't vote for McCain?
