Britney Wants Daddy to Lay Off

11/24/2008 4:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Britney Spears wants daddy Jamie to become more like Barack Obama, and forget the words, "No You Can't!"

We're told Britney has been fighting with her dad quite often and one of the sore subjects is the dreaded Adnan. Britney wants to see him, but Jamie absolutely refuses. She is still in touch with her douchy ex, but they haven't spent time together -- even though Brit has been asking to see Adnan for months.

She's also been complaining that daddy won't let her go out, especially when she wants to go clubbing at night. Britney also doesn't understand why Jamie won't let her take the kids out during the day.

Bottom line -- she doesn't like her dad as her conservator, but as someone put it, "she likes others even less." On Friday, we're told Britney was complaining about Jamie in court to the Commish -- to the point where she called Brit into chambers with one of the lawyers and spoke with Britney for 45 minutes.

So here's what we're told. Britney is acting like a 15-year-old and isn't very "contrite" about the behavior that led to the conservatorship in the first place.

The good news -- she seems to appreciate what Jamie has done to get her business affairs in order. She clearly doesn't understand he's doing the same for her personal life.

Rosanna.. he gets $10,000 per MONTH not per week.

Granted, putting up with her bs definitely deserves $10k/week.

This saddens me because I thought her life was back in order. Oh well, at least her children are safe with Kevin. It is up to her to change her life, and apparently she doesn't want to. Again, oh well.

26. The fact is, the person who gains the most from the conservatorship is... tadah HER DAD, who is given $10,000/week. Remember he used to be JUST A COOK, has no qualifications whatsoever for administering the money, and is clearly leeching on his daughter. Adnan does have a more remunerative profession, for example. Open your eyes folks... Jamie Spears is clearly milking a cash cow and isn't very different from Lufti (who used to feed medications to Brit AS WELL).

Well, first of all, it's $10,000 per MONTH, not per WEEK. That's still a lot of money, but it's peanuts compared to the more than $120,000 that Britney was pissing away EVERY MONTH on "entertainment expenses" (by her own admission in court papers that she filed) during the days that Lutfi was her "manager". Even when you add in the expensive lawyers fees, the total cost to Britney's estate nowadays is a lot less than the $120,000 she was losing every month with Lutfi's "help".

Secondly, when Britney was being "manged" by Lutfi, she (1) lost custody of her children; (2) she let her physical appearance deteriorate; (3) she started behaving like a drug-addled nincompoop in public; (4) she blew her stage appearance during that music awards ceremony; (5) she kept blowing off important court appearances which further hurt her cause in her child custody battle.

Now, under the tutelage of her dad, she (1) has improved her appearance; (2) has regained visitation rights with her kids; (3) has gotten her finances in order so she isn't blowing millions of dollars every year; (4) she is releasing another album; (5) she is going on tour.

Unless you are a mindless, babbling idiot, it should be obvious to you which person (Lutfi or Britney's father) is the better influence on her.

??? What are you talking about? That person quoted the part of Lucy's post which said "Again, who cares, it is not society's job to rescue people from ruining their own lives." That poster (named ".") correctly pointed out that "society" isn't rescuing anyone in this case. If you read both of the posts by Lucy and by ".", you will see that they are mostly in agreement, EXCEPT about this society rescuing people thing.

Therefore, the post that "." made is perfectly appropriate.

This is a free country. She has the right to ruin her life and spend all her money if she wants to. As long as the kids are kept away from her and she's not breaking any laws, I don't see the problem. Sometimes people should be careful what the wish for....

Of course it's a free country. And in this free country, we have laws that permit people to put family members under conservatorship in certain cases. These laws have been approved by our elected representatives in our free country, and they are enforced by the court system of our free country.

These laws have been tested over and over again in the courts of our free country by judges who uphold the Constitution of our free country, and the current versions of the laws are still on the books because they have been upheld by the judges in these courts in this free country.

Britney is not the first person who has been put under conservatorship in our free country for being mentally incompetent to manage their life. Throughout the years there have been thousands of people in our free country who have been put under similar conservatorships. In other words, there is nothing unusual about Britney's situation in our free country.

These laws cost the society of our free country next to nothing, because the expenses of these conservatorships are borne by the families and by the estate of the person who is put under conservatorship.

So do some research about how things really work in our free country before you make statements like that.

OK. So why don't *you* enlighten us? Please tell us what you think Lucy is saying and what you think that other person is saying, and why the second person doesn't seem to be responding to what Lucy said.

Also, please explain in your own words how Lucy's comment, "Again, who cares, it is not society's job to rescue people from ruining their own lives" is somehow not being addressed by what the second person wrote.

This woman is such a loser and old news. A fine example of why the entertainment (as it used to be known) industry is fading fast from existence. No talent, no creativity.

What goes around will come around, Harvey

Thanks to all of you for trying to represent what I wrote, but I think that job should fall on me.

Lucy said, "In the real world, we (as a society) don't spend so much time and effort trying to make this type of ADULT realize the 'error of their ways' and get them 'back on the right path'. We say to the average woman in this situation, good riddance, take away all custody of her minor children, and if she gets her life together good for her, if not, well, she'll end up where she ends up."

In response, I wrote "If you did a tiny bit of research, you'd see that there is nothing particularly unusual about Britney's situation. When someone is physically or mentally incapable of caring for themselves, family members can ask for conservatorship in order to manage the incapacitated person's finances and, if necessary, to take care of the person's family and medical expenses. These kinds of conservatorships are routinely granted, and no taxpayer money is used to maintain them ... except for the relatively small costs that go into paying the salaries of the court officials for their time and efforts."

As you can see, what I wrote here is taking issue with Lucy's assertion about what happens "in the real world", as granting these conservatorships is a routine matter here "in the real world".

Another thing Lucy said is this: "... it is not society's job to rescue people from ruining their own lives."

I responded with this: "'Society' isn't rescuing Britney. All the money that is being used for that purpose is coming from her earnings, not from taxes. It was private citizens, not the government, who requested the conservatorship," plus further elaboration. Again, this is a direct response to what Lucy wrote.

To further clarify what I'm trying to get across, I will add this: it is true that many people who screw up their lives are not put under conservatorships, and they do have to sink or swim. But that is simply because they have no family members who try to intervene. The laws in this country allow family members to do so, and if a person is deemed to be mentally incompetent by one or more accredited psychiatrists, these families are often granted conservatorship just like Britney's father was.

Britney _was_ found to be mentally incompetent by such psychiatrists, or else the conservatorship would not have been granted by the court. This contradicts the following statement made by Lucy: "It is not mental illness - she simply does not have the desire to deny herself all the fun things, and do all the hard work and not-so-fun things, that being successful in life (yes, even for a huge celeb) requires."

Lucy and others might think that the psychiatrists who testified that Britney is mentally incompetent were somehow being manipulated, bribed, or whatever, but there has been absolutely no evidence of this. If Lucy or anyone else has such evidence, it is their duty to make it available to the courts and the police as soon as possible. Otherwise, they are just engaging in spreading false rumors.

I hope that this clarifies things for you.

ThatOne08

Adnan is bad news.

I'm not sure about believing anything from this site or others, but IF she wants to see this douche, I'm glad Jamie isn't letting up.

The guy is a bad influence and IF she ever sees him again, it's all over.

People equate him with the problems that she had earlier in the year and she's gotten healthier without him around. There's got to be a morsel of truth to that.

Please Britney, be smart for once.
