Vick Could Get Sprung from the Hoosegow

Michael Vick is all set to plead guilty to state dogfighting charges tomorrow. The upshot -- he could get himself out of prison and into a halfway house.

Vick has already put his autograph on a plea deal to settle state dogfighting charge by accepting a three-year suspended prison sentence and a $2,500 fine. He's in Virginia now to enter that plea.

Resolving the state case will make him eligible to leave federal prison early and spend the last six months of his sentence in a halfway house.

17. Hey where is the outrage when athletes abuse their woman? Kill someone in a car accident, etc........ the animal abuse is an easy cause to get behind as long as you can humanize the animal.

18. Hey Yummy - these nut jobs would save the family pet before their kids, ignore them.

19. shout-out to cuz (gypsy)...since when is it ok to fatally hurt a member of your family...didn't he run illegal (to the death) dog fights??? i never trust a person who's cruel to their pets...shows lack of character...

20. To all those people defending that sociopath, Michael Vick: you are supporting cruelty to dogs who are like BABIES in their dependence on their owners for food, protection, shelter and love. I would say you should be ashamed of yourselves but I'm guessing you don't know what shame, remorse, empathy feel like. As a pit bull owner, it's tempting to want to sic my dog on you but then I'd be no better than you or that trash Michael Vick.

22. Take this turd immediately to a wastewater treatment facility and drop him in with his own kind.

Posted at 2:28PM on Nov 24th 2008 by Brother Marcus looks up to him. Sad, huh?

23. did anyone read the article on how he used the family pets to fight the pits? he is truly a sub human being at best, I live in Hampton Roads, where Vick is from and it's back on the newsfront again, he most certainly does NOT deserve a chance to ever play in the NFL again, they should send him out to the shelter where his dogs are trying to be rehabbed, make him volunteer his time, or rub a nice juicy steak on him and let his former "pets" get a hold of him

26. Once a loser always a loser!!! Maybe they should stick his ass in with one of those innocent dogs he made mean so it could bite his balls off!

27. It seems to me that with all the comments made that you all are no better than Michael Vicks. You are mad at him for hurting and killing his dogs but then you want to turn around and do the samething to him. Something is wrong with that picture. I agree that he should have to volunteer in helping the dogs in their rehab. But if he return to playing football and you stop watching football because of it guess what football will contiune to go on with or without you. I don't think it is right to hurt animals nor do I think that we should wish harm on people either. We have all done wrong is our lives and is it fare to say that it's okay to give someone a second chance like we have received?

28. Not if, but when (because we all know about "celebrity justice") Vick gets on with another team, there should be huge percentage of his salary that goes straight to rehabbing his former pets, plus many hours of community service at a Humane Society shelter.

29. i dont like pets and he should not have done it, but why is there so much infasis on killing an animal and human life is taken everyday. I would have gotten a lighter sentence if he would have committed manslaughter

30. Some team may hire him, but they'll get way more than they bargained for. I'm from Atlanta and the PETA people were all over the Falcons before Vick was fired. Protests and all that. Made the practice workouts useless with planes with nasty messages flying overhead. Possible death threats, terrorist threats to the fans at the stadium. You name it. Better to let this one rot. He wasn't ever that good a player anyway. Always hurt and can't play.
