Vick Could Get Sprung from the Hoosegow

Michael Vick is all set to plead guilty to state dogfighting charges tomorrow. The upshot -- he could get himself out of prison and into a halfway house.

Vick has already put his autograph on a plea deal to settle state dogfighting charge by accepting a three-year suspended prison sentence and a $2,500 fine. He's in Virginia now to enter that plea.

Resolving the state case will make him eligible to leave federal prison early and spend the last six months of his sentence in a halfway house.

34. This creature (he certainly isn't a man) should be forced to work with animal shelters for several years to come. HIs job would be cleaning up after all the dogs. By hand. Daily. All of it. And I agree with other posters - shame on the NFL for taking him back, which I'm sure they'll do.

35. This is just a bunch of crap. He should not be doing any jail time for this. The punishment is not appropriate for the crime committed. People do horrible things to other humans and do not serve one day in prison. He should be getting out today if not yesterday. This is all because he is a celebrity. This "sport" if you want to call it that is legal in many countries. I do not agree with it but I do feel he was excessively punished.

36. Head Case - You think someone who does this to animals has ANY values or morals???? Hell no they don't. God only knows what else they think is acceptable. You think it is ok to torture and brutalize an animal? I agree, there are worse things out there; however, that in no way excuses of deminishes what he has done. I think someone molesting a child is worse than some robbing someone. So by your logic, robbers are not that bad and should be left alone. Maybe someone can snatch your pit bull and use it to fight, maybe then it would be a big deal. Oh, don't forget the next time you tutor a child to let them know how humane animal fighting is!

37. If Vick goes back to playing in the NFL, can we hang him if he loses a game?

38. I feel sorry for your dogs Yummy.

39. What a bunch of psycopaths...perfectly willing to torture and maim a person...when you sick your pitbull on him does that make you any better than him...when you brutalize or wish brutality upon another animal - even human animals - does that make you better than him? speaking of morals while wishing to committ immoral acts makes you better than him? He has given literal millions in restitution and re-hab for those dogs...who do you think paid for it, PETA? Get real. It was/is Vick's money that is/was paying for it. Idiots! There is an old saying "it is better to be thought a fool than to open ones mouth and prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt" that some of you should remember the next time you go to type. Decrying a brutal act while calling for brutality in return makes you amoral hypocrites...losers...He spent time in prison and has paid millions in restitution which was the federal government guidelines for his punishment in this case...he has satisfied those requirements...unless you are God - the only one with the true power to judge...let him live his life and go on about living yours...losers...

41. I hope he comes out a different person. He's wasted so much. I feel for this guy in many ways he has some real talent but is surrounded by people who just don't get how the "world" and not just their little bubble operates. It's likely even harder because some of those people are related to him. I realize he cannot exactly cut ties with his family, but he should certainly learn to dictate his own life.
Coach Beamer told him back in college to cut ties with some of the people he had around him.

42. Any team, including the Bengals that attempts to sign this monster---that teams General Manager should have his children and his family hounded whereever they attend school, church, recreate, or otherwise exist in this world. Bring it on home, right home to these greedy souls that line their pockets with inhumane creatures such as Vick.

If the Gays can bring it to the Churches---let the animal lovers take it to the GM's homes and families----aint a one of them will ever sign a decrepit piece of garbage like Vick or PackMan Jones again.

As Juan Williams wrote in his book----ENOUGH

43. you people are a bunch ho hypocrites. Of course he has done wrong, he has been out of football for a couple years now and he has served his time. People like Sarah Palin shoot moose and we have people killing bears all over the country for sport. Not for food, but for sport. There is obviously a connection to animal cruelty here. So if you're not up in arms about those who will serve no time, you should allow this man to get on with his life.

44. His species has only been out of the trees for about 15 years. Evolution is ongoing. Look at that undeveloped brother of his, they have no functioning brain between them.

45. good point julie..........he should get a little taste of his own medicine. And as for tl (#31) your comment is barely understandable, but if you are implying that Vick would have gotten a lighter sentence had he commited manslaughter, i think you need to do a little more research.
p.s. infasis is spelled emphasis (just for future use----in case you decide to write another comment supporting this A-HOLE)
