It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like KKKristmas!

Burning CrossNothing says Season's Greetings like a burning cross on your front lawn!

The American Family Association -- a hate group disguised as an ultra-right wing Christian organization -- wants to usher in the holiday spirit by selling this nearly six foot tall scary lookin' lighted cross. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

The evil '50s throwback is available on their website for just 82 hate-filled dollars "and requires only a screwdriver" to assemble.

181. Screw you, TMZ! A pre-lit cross is NOT full of hate, nor would it be used by the Klan!!! Since you OBVIOUSLY don't know... "CHRISTmas" is about Jesus, His birth, etc. and NOT about St. Nick, Rudolph, or spending lots of dough... But, then, you probably don't even say "CHRISTmas", huh?! You probably say, "Xmas"...You guys are so rude... I didn't find ANY humor in this whatsoever...

183. The American Family Association is not a hate group. It is a Christian organization. I guess the only group of people it is ok to hate, according to TMZ and other pcers, are Christians. What has happened to our country?

184. Maybe you just don't know this, but the cross is the Christian symbol that shows God's unbelievable love for humans in that he sent his Son to earth to die and be an atonement for our sin. Through this sacrifice, if He is acknowledged as Lord, the gift of eternal life is given. Pretty wonderful.

Now, just because some bad people did horrible things to African-Americans with a cross (pretty awful), does not make it a hateful symbol. A white cross with Christmas lights on it is a Christmas decoration. Christmas is about the birth of...Christ....the one who is the atonement for sin.

185. It sounds like for a lot of you, if someone does not agree with your world view, they are a "hate" group. I can think of all sorts of groups that I disagree with vehemently, but I do not consider them a "hate" groupe unless they injure people or some extreme like that. Can we ease up on the extreme rhetoric? Because someone has a more traditional view of life than you, and they find value in preserving it does not make them hateful. They want the best world for their kids as you want the best world for your kids. Let's disagree and each work for the world we want to see. But let's back off the "hate" stuff.

186. WAKE UP! IT'S YOUR FAULT YOU'RE DECIEVED ABOUT THE TRUTH! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BESIDES BLAME SOMETHING FOR YOUR IGNORANCE & YOUR LOVE OF EVIL IN LIFE! The very people who scream for freedom of rights, like who wrote this, try to do the very thing they claim is being done to them! People who love hate & ALL EVIL HATE anything that's good & right! So, what's written about a NON-HATE GROUP is expected. The author of this one DOESNT HAVE A CLUE OF THAT... IF THEY DID THEY WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THEMSELVES LOOK SO STUPID & IGNORANT! An innocent MAIN STREAM Christ-like group who attempts to protect children & others is somehow a HATE GROUP? Dude, DO THE WORLD A FAVOR & STOP BEING SUCH AN IGNORANT FOOL! SPEND SOME TIME GETTING WISE!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

187. This is not a hate crime and the organization is NOT a hate group. It's a Christian organization committed to upholding the Word of God as stated in the Bible. That may translate to ultra right wing coservative to some, yes. In case we have all forgotten CHRISTMAS is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. So, the cross (a symbol of Jesus dying for the sins of the world....and tha includes everyone....belivers and nonbelievers alike....and the ultimate sacrifice of God giving His only Son) is a true Christmas symbol....it's one of true love and forgiveness....not a symbol for hate.

Look up the AFA on Wikipedia, then read some of the articles and statements by this associatoin's founder. This is not a "Christian" organization -- period! I'm a devout Christian and this organization is a sham.

189. To Merry Christmas;

We all know what the cross represents. That's not what this is about. It's the connotation of the lit cross, or one that looks as though it has flames. It's quite a stretch on TMZ's part, granted, and this is a silly article.

As far as taste is concerned, everyone has a right to use the cross. Personally, I wouldn't use it because it represents the death of Christ -- not his birth, which Christmas celebrates. But to each his own.

The AFA is not the "Christian" group it represents itself to be. Sorry but that happens to be true. Their "teachings' for want of a better term, do not reflect Christ's teachings. At least not in the bible I grew up with. They've twisted God's love into something that is dictatorial and extremely judgmental. They're revisionists and extremists, and really have no right to call themselves Christians.

190. TMZ, you are the intolerant, hate group, that disguises itself as a news/reporting/gossip piece of crap. I'm sure there are several of your "reporters" who thinks this is ridiculous too. It's a shame you have a couple of bozos who write these lines, they obviously are only under the scrutiny of other hate filled bozos. If you only had a clue as to what Christmas really stands for, not what you pretend to make it about, you would understand everyone thinks you are full crap. I need to rethink my intelligence by looking at this website. TMZ-Haters!

191. You guys at TMZ are a bunch of idiots!! So now the sign of the Holy Cross that is not burning on someone's lawn is the sign that whomever displays that cross is a member of the KKK??? Wow that is weird because I went by a church last nite that has a cross that is lit up on its steeple, so that church is a member of the KKK??? And the American Family Association is NOT A HATE GROUP......But I am starting to think the TMZ is full of crap!!

192. Your intolerance is showing. This is not a hate oganization. They may not agree with some on popular "social issues", but to call them a hate group is "extreme". Just because people disagree with some on social issues doen NOT mean they hate.....just disagree. Have A Great Day.

193. I see the comparison, with all it's implications,.....for the morons that don't understand,.....it's symbolic for the burning cross, that KKK and white supremists like to use.

194. well, i expected to see a hooded kkk member burning a cross but all i see is a cross with lighting decorations on it.. am not sure how this is filled with hate but i could be wrong.. besides americans hate each other but the country is still one .. americans are like the family gathering at xmas.. everyone cant stand each other but since you are all related by blood you all suck it up and endure each others company for the holidays..!!

195. Actually, Christmas is not really Jesus's birthday, and Easter is not when He rose from the dead. Both are Catholic observances and have nothing to do with Christianity. I am a Christian, and Jesus would never approve of His people celebrating his un-birthday by going into enormous debt and snatching Cabbage Patch dolls from each other in the toy store. If you're going to celebrate Christmas (and believe me, I do), at least celebrate it for what it is, and don't try to make it something its not. Jesus didn't ask us to celebrate His birthday, which is something to be celebrated 365 days a year by taking up your cross and following Him. I Peter 3:21.
