It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like KKKristmas!

Burning CrossNothing says Season's Greetings like a burning cross on your front lawn!

The American Family Association -- a hate group disguised as an ultra-right wing Christian organization -- wants to usher in the holiday spirit by selling this nearly six foot tall scary lookin' lighted cross. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

The evil '50s throwback is available on their website for just 82 hate-filled dollars "and requires only a screwdriver" to assemble.

197. It's about time that Christians started doing something to show that this nation will not surrender to these Liberal Idiot ideals. Also a burning cross woyld add to a statment that we will remain a Christian Nation forever. Merry Christmas to you all and keep that Rebel spirit alive.

198. OK, well it looked like a flaming cross when I first looked at it. They should put some colored lights on it or something.

Think of it this way.... If you were putting on a play about a KKK lynching and you needed a burning cross for the big final scene... don't ya think this thing would work just fine? I mean seriously...

199. Sorry, but this thing looks like a roasty, toasty burning cross, and all the yammering about "lighting" a cross notwithstanding, a cross in flames is associated with the worst form of American racism. Any ultra right wing group that markets this is sure to be marketing pillowcases with eyeholes, too. You know why Klan hoods are pointed? Form fitting!

200. I own a six foot tall, illuminated cross which is almost exactly like the one pictured; purchased for my family as a gift from our African-American neighbors. To the staff at TMZ...there is no conspiracy...Pipe Down You Silly Little Liberals!!!

201. The AFA are an extremist group... that I will agree with. As a Christian I share some of the same beliefs that they do... I just don't have the same mob mentality. They are trying to create a witch hunt against gay people... that is just wrong and sick.

On the other hand... this is just another dumb, tacky decoration. It is not a symbol of hate. Just because a group of extremists took an object and lit it on fire it does not make it theirs. The cross has been a symbol of Jesus and his crucifixion long before the KKK got a hold of it. If people want to twist things so that everything is racist then fine. Just remember, when your head is stuck in the ground you can't see the world changing around you. No religious group should be judged by some extremists... just look at the muslim extremists right now scaring half of America into hating anything and everything muslim... it is sick!

202. You sure are great at instigating. If you already know there is tension, why do you add more hate. Didn't M. L. King teach you anything?????

203. Its a lighted Christmas tree not a burning cross. There is a difference. Big deal and really not newsworthy. Way to go TMZ.

204. 75 what do you think?

205. On the surface, the cross certainly does seem innocuous, and by almost any other organization, it would be. I hadn't heard of this organization, but found in addition to being anti-semites, I found the following:

The AFA defines itself as "a Christian organization promoting the biblical ethic of decency in American society with primary emphasis on TV and other media" It pursues its views and other issues through a number of activism efforts, including boycotts, "action alert" e-mails, publications on the AFA's web sites or in the AFA Journal, broadcasts on American Family Radio, and lobbying. The legal efforts previously promoted by the AFA Center for Law and Policy were eliminated in 2007. Chief among its efforts were the recognition of Christmas in seasonal print advertisements; the criminalization of homosexuality; lobbying against same-sex marriage, and in opposition of equal-rights and hate-crime legislation that would include sexual orientation and gender identity under categories already protected and advocating censorship of print and electronic media.

206. 12. How much do you want to bet, the same racist who wrote the article about Beyonce being photoshopped to have lighter skin, wrote this worthless article. I wish Harvey would fire the bigot.

This is exactly what I thought. It's pretty damn obvious. Alas, this is what America has become. Those people (yeah, I said it) get by with murder. Quite literally. Or at least until they try to hole someone up in a motel room at gunpoint and are stupid enough to get caught on tape.

207. Are you kidding me. TMZ you have morons that work for you. Why try and start Sh*t when there is nothing to start. This is why I do not watch your TV show. Stupid is as stupid does.
