It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like KKKristmas!

Burning CrossNothing says Season's Greetings like a burning cross on your front lawn!

The American Family Association -- a hate group disguised as an ultra-right wing Christian organization -- wants to usher in the holiday spirit by selling this nearly six foot tall scary lookin' lighted cross. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

The evil '50s throwback is available on their website for just 82 hate-filled dollars "and requires only a screwdriver" to assemble.

76. Why are there so many neo-Christians reading TMZ? Don't you have more pious things to do? I'm pretty sure the 700 club has a web site. If you don't like the 'left' (read: free-thinking) leanings of TMZ, then go to a Christian website. And if you don't understand the offensiveness of what looks a whole lot like a burning cross, you're either too young to remember or too stupid to comprehend someone else's reality.

77. The only hate I see here is the post by TMZ. Are you guys kidding me? If you had one iota of good taste (of course, you don't) or any respect for Christians (again, of course you don't) then you'd remove this article completely. I guess I would expect that this article will stay posted.

What kind of athiest loser posted this anyways? I've glance at your show on Fox before and all I saw was what I assumed was a bunch of star-struck uneducated buffoons.........I don't have to assume anymore, you've proved it.

78. If you think the flaming cross is bad, The other day I saw a light-up raindeer for sale as a Christmas decoration. Do these people not realize that depicting a raindeer on fire equates to animal cruelty and is beyond offensive? And if that isn't bad enough driving around my neighborhood lately I have seen more and more people with lights on their house, obviously mocking firefighters by depicting their houses on fire.

80. #68 asked: who decided that left means liberal and right means conservative? just asking...

The person who realized that conservatives are correct (right) and that liberals are "out in left field."

81. I don't get the problem here. It is His day after all. You're really stretching to find hate in this, especially comparing it to the KKK!

82. SIX feet tall? Give me a break. How tall is that poinsetta then?

83. Love your comment Steve! You are dead on. If you find the cross offensive, gaudy or don't want to support the group selling it, don't buy it. If you like the cross but not the group selling it, I'm sure you can find something similar somewhere else. If you like the group selling it and the cross, go ahead and buy it. It's your house and you can put it on your lawn or not as you like. If you think it will offend others, you're back to don't buy it. If you are driving along and you see one on someone else's lawn and are offended, remember that it's not your lawn and look away.

84. I mean seriously guys...a hate group? Just because the organization is ultra conservative and just because you don't share the same ideas and principles that they do doesn't mean they are a hate group.

85. I see nothing wrong with the cross, just like I see nothing wrong with the Star of David or the Star and Crescent. If the AFA is a hate group then so are other "special interest" groups like the National Rifle Association, the NAACP, American Dental Association, and the PeaceCorps. Way to look stupid, TMZ. And we all know...you can't fix stupid.

86. To #29 gojury

If you’re going to read, READ!

Wiki also wrote that the AFA teaches that homosexuality is a sin against God. AFA’s history includes efforts to criminalize homosexuality, and is also a strong supporter of censorship on various levels; most specifically, its opposition of equal rights for gays. It’s founder, Donald Wildmon, has repeatedly blamed “the Jews” for profane television programming. He is known for his anti-Semitic remarks.

The AFA’s false “Christian” ethics are not at all what Jesus taught us. The AFA are more revisionist and neo-nazi in their efforts -- hardly Christian.

87. Hey, idiots at TMZ, keep CHRIST in Christmas! Stop your inflammatory anti-Christian hatred-laced articles!

88. I have always known TMZ was a Christian hating group. This is over the top. It;s a lighted cross. A sacred symbol to all Christians. It's not a burning cross. So if a Jew has a lighted Star of David, that's okay, but Chrisitans can't have a lighted cross? The American Family Assn., speaks out against things like Partial birth abortion ( where a live baby is born during an abortion, and is killed or allowed to die)....At least there are some people who don't condone this "choice". I appreciate the work the Aerican Family assn. does to bring things like this to light. True Christians hate the KKK by the way. Do you TMZ goons think Christians are KKKers???? Nuts.

89. Wow - These are the types of things TMZ puts up that reminds me how out of touch the Hollywood types are (and yes, TMZ writers are Hollywood types - without the money) with main stream American. Shame on you for insulting millions of Christians everywhere. The only hate group I see around here is TMZ itself. You guys are disgusting.

90. The AFA does cover its censorship and anti-Semitism under the smoke screen of "the love of the Lord." It's been discussed numerous times. This cross, I think, was meant to be an attractive decoration -- not a burning cross a'la KKK. But I certainly wouldn't put it on my lawn or against my house due to the negative connotations. In my opinion, it's in bad taste simply because of those connotations. By the way Christmas celebrates Christ's birth -- not his death.
