Screw the auto industry -- save the McDonald's dollar menu!
The economy's first food industry casualty is upon us, as McDonald's is upping the price of its deliciously disgusting double cheeseburger to a whopping $1.19 -- and they're replacing it with the "McDouble," which is a double burger with half the cheese.
The price hike starts in December ... there are dark, dark times ahead, people.

17. Well, earlier this year they were running an ad that the double cheeseburger was leaving the dollar menu but it never did here. Who knows.

White Castle ROCKS!!!! I'll take White Castle over cheap-o Mickey D's. Skimping on the cheese.....what does it cost them... probably pennies per slice. Maybe they're saving up to pay for that 3 mil lawsuit that clown with the cell phone scam is suing them for.

21. I gave up fast food for the past 8 months. I went to a very clean, very nice McDonalds the other day here in White Plains, Ny. I could just taste all the grease. The triple cheeseburger was Disgusting! (The fries were good though.) How I ever thought that McDonalds was good growing up, I'll never know. Superman.

23. This has already happened in some markets. The McDonald's I frequent in Chicago upped the price of a double cheeseburger over a month ago. And replaced its spot on the dollar menu with "Double Hamburger w/Cheese" Ironic though, cuz didn't McDonalds come out publically and say that even with the bad economy they wouldn't be raising the prices on their dollar menu.(which I guess they didn't, they just changed the items.....)

25. I find Mc'D's nasty. The last time I went through a woman with dirty talon nails handed me my food and it made me want to vomit. The food almost made me gag. How the dude in Supersize me went that long eating that cr@p is beyond me.

27. This is old news in Lake Station IN. The double cheeseburger went up in price at least a couple of months ago.
It was replaced by the double hamburger with cheese,one slice of course.

29. I live around Toronto, Ontario, and that value menu has always been $1.39.

I work in the local HQ office for another fast food restaurant and we got emails about this sometime ago, Mcdonalds did this in a few market areas to see if the people would still buy the double cheeseburger if they raised their prices and they did so now they are changing it everywhere. They did not do this because of their food costs being too high or that they were loosing money they did it because they are greedy. I bought a double yesterday and noticed it went up in Oklahoma, it will be the last I buy from them. Why wouldnt I go to wendys 99cent menu where they have more on their burgers anyways. Mcdonalds thinks they are the walmart of fast food but do they know their food is soooooo gross and it dont matter where you go the employees are idiots!
