MILK Does the Body Good

The 68-year-old loose cannon resurfaced at some event, looking like she could use a gay best friend.

After a boycott of orange juice was started due to the negative publicity surrounding her political campaigning, Anita's contract with the Florida Citrus Commission was not renewed. In 1998, Miami re-authorized an ordinance protecting individuals from discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Despite being a devout evangelical Christian, Anita divorced her first husband in 1980.

121. Looks like God is punishing her...And those of us who have to look at her!

122. Well she looks alright I guess. But what puzzles me, is why she has to make an appointment with a proctologist to have her teeth drilled or get a facial. Very, very odd.

123. To post 14, good you don't hate homosexuals. Try not to think too much about the sex partt
Hetro sex deos notv look all that beautiful either Your daughter likley performs felatio on her boyfriend/husband her boyfriend/husband likley performs cunningulus on her and she if like most women loves it.
Also the only person I know who enjoys anal sex is a woman and this is with her husband.
The only person I know who is an avid sperm eater too is also a woman. She graves her husbands sperm. When not performing felatio and eating his load you can find her in church. So and again try not to think of homosexual sex if you must think of sex give the hetros a try.

124. People who judge others have small minds....they can't think for themselves. Get real. Don't worry about whether or not someone is gay....it's none of your damn business, anyway. Work on bettering your own life. Just learn basic, decent respect for everybody.

125. Who is the bigoted six-year-old who wrote this piece? Certainly no adult, and no professional. Anita Bryant's campaign was based, NOT on hate, but, rather, on Beliefs. For the (necessarily) anonymous TMZ staffer to equate the two is absolutely unconscionable and ignorant! An analogy would be to accuse one who advocates the use of seat belts of hating drivers who don't use them. How about accusing one who believes in gun control of hating gun owners? Absolutely ludicrous! - And the comment about her divorce ("Despite being a devout evangelical Christian, Anita divorced her first husband in 1980) shows a complete failure to understand Christianity. This hate-filled writer should limit his vitriol to subjects about which he has at least a tiny bit of knowledge!

126. I wonder, what happened to her little gay friend.............Orange Bird? Probably gave her the squirt in the eyes, then split for better things.

127. I remember hearing about Anita Bryant's anti-gay pronouncements, probably after all the hoopla had died down and she had been released from her contract with the Florida Orange Growers. I don't remember hearing about the boycott, but I was put off by what I thought was bigoted speech. So I decided on my own to stop drinking orange juice and risk getting scurvy. Until that time I had been an avid OJ drinker, downing at least a half gallon a week. Now almost thirty years later I have heard over and over how bad the instant sugar rush of fruit juice is for the human body and how many other better sources of vitamin C are out there. (Look up Vitamin C on Wikipedia.)

As a result of my personal boycott, which I think I never discussed with anyone, I have now saved lots of money by not drinking expensive juice, kept some of the forces of a bad sugar-infused diet from storming the ramparts of what health I have, and discovered other foods that provide better nutrition than the one-dimensional nutrition of a glass of orange juice. So despite the toll of personal and financial destruction that Anita Bryant has left in her wake, I have personally profited from her actions and words. I hope that I can continue to learn from the foolish as well as from the wise.

128. This woman preys on people's supertitous belief. Wake up people! Religion is a way to control you. It is a way for some white trash person from low end trailor housing to make money. And to make people think they are someone. There is NO GOD! Once you are dead you are dead. Enjoy life while you are living. Stop the hate. Life is too precious for it all this hate.

129. First off, I think Anita looks great. Hey, give her a break, she's nearing 70. Secondly, I can remember when all this was going on. I was agnostic at the time, and while I thought her kind of silly for being so worried about such a small group (gay people) being any kind of threat, I never thought she was mean-spirited, only doing what she thought was right. I am now a Christian, and I don't believe we should hate anyone, I also believe that homosexuality is a sin as defined in the Bible. I don't think it is necessarily the worst sin, as something like gossip can hurt a lot more people, and it is something you can get caught up in before you even know you are doing it. I think that we Christians may at times make homosexuality out to be worse than other sins because for most of us, it is a no-brainer, not something we would not be tempted to do, and then we can feel better about ourselves, that our sins are not as bad. That is wrongful thinking too; sin is sin. Back in the days when people were stoned for adultry, Jesus told the Pharisees that whoever was without sin to cast the first stone. None did and then Jesus told the woman that He forgave her and to go and sin no more. Jesus showed us that we can hate the sin but still love the sinner. That is how I have to look at homosexuality, I don't hate gay people, but I cannot say they are not sinning when they act on their urges either. A lot has changed since Anita's time in the late 70s, people have been urged to "come out" and TV networks have been bought out by wealthy gays and gay supporters, so you younger people posting here have never seen the idea of same sex relations as something shocking, but it was looked upon that way by most in Anita's time and in mine as well. As a Christian, I try to be tolerent, but from what I've been reading here, it is the gays and gay supporters who are being mean and hateful.

130. I read the above comments. Funny how you consider Christians to be bigots when you obviously are ignorant of the words of God or the Bible. It is clear on what a marriage is, between a man and a woman. And is also clear on homosexuality as a sin. The gay community is targeting the wrong issue. Marriage is a religious institution created by God. Laws are created by man. The law needs to be changed to allow the homosexual community equal rights to insurance, health care, wills etc. The Christian community does not oppose this. If you are in a committed relationship and have been together for a "significant" amount of time then you SHOULD be allowed your partners benefits. Stop fighting over the term " Marriage" and start fighting the laws for equal benefits. It is so simple, why hasn't anyone gotten this? Marriage is a God thing, and you don't want to mess with God. Remember what happened to Sodom & Gomorrah? oops, my bad, you haven't read the Bible. Maybe you should start there!

131. She is the face hate, how can someone like her smile knowing how she took took away human rights just because she did not agree with someone else's life. What if I don't agree with things or who she is? Should I have the right to strip her of her rights? I would say she should not speak, how would she feel? or she couldn't wear all that makeup to look better. I guess we all need her to keep up with the 2nd question! She looks like the devil in depection, like that crazy sara palin right wing zealot.
