31. Assimilation when it comes to accents come more easy to some people than others. And Gillian Anderson has an ear for accents. anyone who has ssen The Mighty Celt are aware of this. She speaks with a heavy Northern Irish accent in that one. She herslf has acknowledged that she is often embarrassed bythe fact that she can switch between the accents. She started her school years in London, her formative years wre spent there. It would be more surprising if she DIDN'T have a more British( there are no such thing as an English) accent when she is here. And the fact is that that she has spent the last 6 years and the 9 years + the fact that she went back here for holidays through out her life, so she has probably spent equal time in her life here in England and in the US. Don't forget that she spent the best part of 6-7 years or so in Vancouver, Canada, as well. I can't for the life of me understand the bitchyness or even the pure hatred coming from some of you! And as for living in sin; crawl back under the rock you are living under, ElaineC, will you! People like you belong there.

32. Its hard not to pick up the accent once you've been in the UK for an extended amount of time. But yeah, that was a pretty heavy British accent.

33. Paula, I suggest you stop spreading rumours about things you clearly know nothing about. Gillian didn't cheat on her husband, I can tell you for a fact that that her marriage was pretty much over before she got involved with my brother.
Can you imagine how embarassing it is to have our employees reading out the comments website to me.
So just think for a minute how you would feel if it was a member of your family that was being accused of breaking up someones marriage.

34. Her marriage was pretty much over? But not divorced, so still legally married. So yes, she did technically cheat on her husband. Then again only a few months before this revelation she was telling her fans how she and her husband wanted to have another baby.....then all of the sudden i guess she got tired of the guy and went out looking for greener pastures. Your poor brother. Hope she doesn't kick him to the curb too.

36. Mick, just going by what i've read about her. She said just a few months before she wanted a baby with her then husband. And only 2 months later she is pregnant with another man's child. So, no, not a know it all at all. Those words came out of her mouth. So in two months she kicked him to the curb and got knocked up by another man. Guess she must have been cheating while her husband was off on one of his trips to Africa. She is a mess. I feel so sorry for her poor daughter. What a mother she has.

If "Graham" really is the wheelclampers brother, go to Eonline "Awful Truth" and read all the goodies on that site - that will really give your employees something to talk about. As for Gillian, she is an amazing actress, seems like a smart and cool person, and while the british accent is a bit odd at first, as a long time x-files fan, so be it - she's lived there for 6 yers in addition to during her childhood so she deserves a break on that one. Now just leave the UK and the wheelclamper and come back to the US.......David needs you!!

41. Naturally when you are surrounded by a group or people eventually you do sound more like them. Take someone who is in the south move them up north eventually their southern twang disappears a little or vice a versa. I have now been in the south for 5 years and am often told some of the words I say now are very country sounding. It's just life, if anyone moved to England for a few years, hung out around almost all British folks they would pick up an accent eventually.

42. Why do I think this Elaine C person is Pippy in disguise? You are way too hateful on almost a personal level and you don't even know Gillian. That is very unattractive and disturbing. And for someone who hates her so much, you are always very interested in following stories about her. And to call her kids bastards? What century are we in? Gillian may not have a ring on her finger but Mark is THERE. Moving on. As far as the accent goes, who gives a flying F. Her original accent is British and so what if she is reverting back to it. Grow up, people.
