Brit Dodges the 5,150 Pound Elephant

There was no Britney Spears documentary last night, there was only propaganda.
Britney Spears: Click to watch
Funny that a feature film that was supposed to examine everything in her life conveniently glossed over the parts where she was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, flashed the no-no bits, hung around scumbags like Sam Lutfi and Adnan, and was placed under a conservatorship after being strapped onto a gurney -- twice.

Bottom line -- Britney and MTV had an opportunity to help us understand the real Britney. Then again, when a Britney tell-all is sponsored by a Britney perfume line, how real could it possibly get?

16. leave britney alone. the poor girl has obviously been through so much, to have her whole life fall apart in front of the entire world, and youre still trashing her past? leave it alone and leave HER alone. she answered what her life is like NOW, and even though she looked back she also said that moving on is important. and to let go of all the negativity, and focus on the positive. just let the poor girl lead her life the way she wants it to be. stop trashing her and just leave her alone.

17. Everything on MTV is self promoting. The last time I tuned into the MTV movie awards, it was a giant cellphone company commercial. Taking that into account before I even turned to the channel, I thought it was a very intimate interview that portrayed her as a real, though not regular, person. She touched on all the topics of her past, though not always directly. I loved it and love her more for it.

20. I really think that everyone is being unfair to her. Do you not feel bad at all? How mean can you all be?

21. I think it was a good interview... no need for all those details. Why should she be forced to talk about those things?
If you have a brain in your head, or weren't looking for her to have to relive her painful past.. you'd have the idea!
She's doing good .... too bad there's people like you in this world.. Just truly mean and vicious!

23. The only thing new I learned is that she's sweet, (which we all already knew) sad and mad that her dad is taking care of her. Which is unfortunate because he was the only one there for her to take care of her and is doing what a parent is supposed to do!

I just wish she would get better before trying to tell everyone she is.

24. I had tivo'd it and watched it this morning.

I liked it and felt that she did a great job. I don't feel that she really glossed over anything. She just didn't talk about any particular episode.

I feel sad for her because she clearly is a prisoner wherever she goes. She doesn't get to experience many of the things that the average person gets to. She seems to be a sweet girl and people should leave her alone and let her be. Like she said most celebrities have 3-4 paps on them and they still get to go out with their kids but she can't because she has so many people on her....

Just leave her alone.

25. Ummm....did you see the same progam I saw? Doesn't sound like it. I thought it was excellent. I'm not necessarily a "fan" of Britney Spears, but stumbled across the show as I was flipping through channels. I was Very impressed with her. First off, she looked BEAUTIFUL., face and body. She was bright, articulate, showed insight and perspective I didn't expect and loves her kids dearly. Oh, and she has a Great sense of humor. PS...I am Now a fan of Britney Spears. TMZ..you stoop to new lows daily, I guess that's how you exist. though so who am I to criticize you?

26. The woman obviously has problems. I agree with the poster that said for her to get well and then go for a comeback.

27. Wow, I actually agree with TMZ on this one. One thing I would have liked to see was Britney showing more gratitude to her father for getting those bad people out of her life. All she did was called him an A-hole and that made me lose respect for her. All she did was complain about her life, even though she is rich, has loving parents, two HEALTHY KIDS and gets to go to fun events, with certain ground rules. She needs to sit back and look at some past videos of herself running around LA, getting transported to the hospital - then maybe she will remember why she is in this situation in the first place.

She also needs to visit a poverty country to get perspective on how good she has it now.

28. Uhhh guess what, what goes on in their lives in really none of our business, be happy with what you get. She didn't have to say anything at all..

29. I thought the interview was real and touching. Not everything needs to be sensationalized, this was shot with class and tact. I do think Britney was very articulate and sincere. Personally, seems to me that she was suffering a severe form of post partum depression, add that to her divorce and that makes for an explosive situation. Her depression is evident in the fact that she can't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel...hopefully those close to her will keep her in therapy. Keep your chin up Britney, you have overcome amazing hurdles, I pray you continue to do so.

30. It did play last night, but not on US TV.... it played on Much Music Canada and it was really good. Totally worth checking it out online... it really was very honest and it helps you understand what's up...
