32. Polanski was corrupted by the murder of his wife Sharon Tate. He fell into alcoholism, and drugs where child prostitution may have become an outlet from the shock of Sharon being murdered like she was. A sort of post dramatic disorder developed in Polanski where he tried to hide from the non-sensical tourcher murders of his un-born baby, and Sharon. I am sure Polanski started with 17 and 18 year olds, and inverted down to 15 year olds, and eventually not knowing when he was having sex with 13-year-old girls. - A tragic fall down of morals, and beliefs of the self.

This man has suffered enough, and deserves to be given a second chance. Polanski did not as the girl’s age, and probably did not care when he fell into his mental anguish on the age of his sex partners.

Michael Jackson did 11-year-old boys. Brady Bunch father did 14-year-old boys in the 1970;s nobody is perfect.

35. A minor is always a victim. They can't consent to sex with an adult. It would be a bad message though to drop the charges after he feld the country. Maybe a reduced sentence? It was deplorable what he did, but the guy's wife and unborn baby were murdered by the Manson family. That's bound to make anyone crazy for a while.

36. Polanski is a pig. I have to wonder if this was never reported until now, if the statue of limitations would have already run out. He should have stayed here and faced what he did head on, but he chose to be a loser and run away from it. His not being allowed in the country without being picked up by the POPO is something he should have to live with . He made his bed and now he can lie in it.

39. Hey #36 Your dead right. Just one thing, he pled guilty so his conviction was based on a guilty plea. He is a pedophile and when confronted with his crime he addmitted his guilt then ran from his sentencing. He could have appealed the sentence if he had shown up to hear it.

If this guy ever enters the USA he should be arrested on the spot he is a guilty pedophile.

41. I was recently on a jury for a statutory rape case. the girl was 13 (she looked 9) and the guy was in his late 50's. He was also married. They claimed to "love each other" and her parents were OK with the relationship. It was disgusting. A minor is a minor no matter what anyone else thinks. . Moral issues aside, it's illegal for an adult to have sex with a minor. End of story.

Maybe, but the facts are he "fled" the country because the judge was corrupt, there is no way he would have gotten a fair sentence.
