If your 13 year old junior high school student was asked to visit a famous director for a photo shoot, and afterwards you found out she had been, 'sodomizied. participated in 'oral copulation', and 'sexual intercourse', after given 'champagne and qualudes' and now 31 years later lets let bygones be bygones....after in court he pleaded to only one count of the indictement because you didnt want to put your child through the trial and publicity it brings, and only hours before sentencing the convicted rapist flees the country to escape his punishment. Although the victim, 45 year old Samantha Greimer, who is a mother and wife, is now sympathetic to Polanski and says he must go free. Maybe if her child went through the same thing she might give it some pause. Polanski wasnt 'exiled' and he didnt go to Paris, France to serve a 31 year prison sentence. He has lived in grand style and because he cannot come back to the United States we should be sympathetic to him? Why not simply permenantly forbid him to come to the United States? This should satisfy those who do not think he should do prison time, and for those of us who think he should, at least he would not get the one thing in life that means so much to him....the United States

She stated that she wanted the charges dropped that she never suffered any ill effects from her encounter with him and that the prosecutors need to drop the case. This is a dead case--- for the main reason the alleged victim states she is not a victim and deos not want this case to go forward.... Example of overzealous prosecution their was misconduct on this case from the very begining on the prosecution side

Zoya, so if a REALLY famous person (Sharon Tate's widow, famous filmmaker) has sex with a child, and the child - as an adult - says that they are dog freaking tired of the media hounding her year after year and the case coming up each and every time the guy makes a film, and just for God's sake let the case drop because she cant stand it defining her life, then the molester, despite having plead guilty, should not do his time? By that logic terrorists who stay out of the country for a while, until their victims die, for example, should be cut some slack?

59. Did any of you even watch the doc?? Didn't you guys catch the part about HER MOM wanting her ( the daughter) to go meet Polanski?
For those who didn't see it, the girl's mother was a failed hollywood wannabe, and she was trying to stay in the 'in' crowd and pimped her daughter out to Roman. The daughter knew what was up. Come on, go to Jack Nicolson's house and have pics taken of you?? and her mother allowed it? They ( mom and daughter) were both in on it.
I'm not saying Polanski is in the clear, but if the mother and daughter both knew what the outcome maybe of the set up, why go through with it?
Roman got screwed on that deal.
