31. this is just the final in a long run of inappropriate behavior from avery.
for the longest time other players danced around the issue of avery and his antics, never wanting to call him out publicly on them. it's just a general respect thing that hockey players pride themselves on, you don't badmouth your opponent off ice. on the ice gets left on the ice. however, in the past season or so, avery's taken it too far and people began to speak their true feelings. and they're even uglier than I thought they'd be. avery has no class, whatsoever.
even his behavior with broduer aside, his behaviors to intentionally injure other players to the things that come out of his mouth, making fun of cancer, racial and ethnic slurs are too much.
and kudos for grasping and posting that he is out indefinitely... PENDING HEARING. So many sites have missed that, which causes stupidity to run rampant.

32. Additionally, it isn't just Cuthbert and Phaneuf he is referring to. Cuthbert also dated Mike Komisarek.
Current LA King forward, Jarrett Stoll is engaged to Rachel Hunter.

Granted, the statement was pointed at Phaneuf, and classless, he does have a point. Hot chicks leave him for classier players.

33. Someone made the valid point that the NHL is on TMZ. It may be a first. It's certainly rare. The dirty little not so secret in all of pro sports and entertainment is that the same group of girls get passed around like joints. Michael Strahan is with Eddie Murphy's ex and so on. A few years ago in Cleveland, Josh Beckett's ex sang the national anthem before a playoff game in which he was pitching. If you are not allowed to talk about your relationships or your former relationships, that's pretty sad. Avery is controversial so he is eating this up. The truth is, if he had NOT been suspended and called to the commissioner's office, no one and I mean no one would have known about this. Two professional athletes have banged the same actress. Where's the story? This went from a one day, at best, non story to a major embarrassment for Cuthbert.

41. Does the punishment fit the crime? Not really but just add this to the list of stupid, unproffesional, (I could go on) things that Avery has done. The NHL was just waiting for his next slip up. Sure, I understand, that's Avery's game: he likes to get under peoples skin. But stuff like that needs to stay on the ice. What he did was so premeditated by calling over the cameras - it was just ridiculous. His own players don't even want him around anymore. I bet he's played his last game with Dallas, heck maybe even in the NHL. Teams don't want a liability running around.

43. Oh for Pete's sake people...lighten up!!!! it's Avery's job to get under the skin of other players! What he said was HILARIOUS!! and if his ex- wasn't such a HOCKEY WHORE, it wouldn't matter! let him play, and let it be resolved the next time he meets the Flames on the ice. I guarantee that game will be sold out, and make a ton of money for all involved.
