England needs to grow up and get rid of this laughable Monarchy. The Royal Family thinks they are so much better than anyone else. THINK AGAIN! They have no sympathy, empathy, no conscience - nothing that makes them the least bit human.
If the Queen had not been forced to, she would have never publically acknowledged Diana's death. Even though millions of people loved her and felt for her suffering during the time of her laughable marriage. They found out just how much the world loved Diana. Bastards! When Liz and Phil go - just a quick spit on the coffin will be sufficient. Keep these sorry mules out of the news OK? Nobody cares anyway.

It's time for this pompous old bitch to get over herself. Those of you who are kicking up a stink about other people referring to her as "her highness" instead of "Her Majesty" also need to get over themselves. Some of us know perfectly well what her title (which she does not deserve) is and just don't give a damn. Personally, I couldn't care less what people choose to call this ridiculous pretend queen. I'm Canadian and certainly do not consider her MY queen. Why would I? We owe her nothing and she does absolutely nothing for us except make US pay for HER trips here! 67. So many ill informed and ignorant people posting on this subject.So I won't go in to too much detail,It'll only cause more confusion.

Just to let the majority of posters on here know,there is no Queen of England.She is infact the Queen of Great Britain (U.K.)
which includes not only England but also Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland.

Many American people don't seem able to understand the whole U.K.,Britain,England,London,Europe set-up.
Scotland,Wales,Northern Ireland and England are all countries in their own right,as well as being part of the U.K.
We have a British Army/Navy/Air Force for example, which includes servicemen/women from all countries named above.

First and foremost, the royal family do NOT get paychecks. The Queen and her husband (no one else) recieve a relatively small sum which is used to pay for offical expenses (staff, office supplies, offical travel). Each member of the royal family earns their private income be it inheritance, investments, serving in the military (most common), or private business arrangements.

The Queen only rides in the state coach with tiara on state occassions. It's not like she was taking a stroll around the park.

The purpose of the Queen? She is the Head of State of the United Kingdom of Great Britian, Northern Ireland and the Common Wealth. She signs bills into law and advises the PM. She has generations of experience and she knows the UK and her people.

People seem to forget that the crown properities earn hundreds of millions of pounds in rent and dues each year which are surrendered to the government. The Royal family costs around 5% of that annually if you include the cost of upkeep for Buckingham, Windsor, ect....And, Keep in mind that the state has to pay upkeep on those no matter what even without a royal family.

The royal family is a banging business for the UK. They generate billions each year in sales of nic-nacks, magazines, tourisim, and business brought in via their influence (The DoY is active in promoting UK trade).

Let's not also forget that the British Royal Family are an important part of British Culture. But then again, Americans don't seem to be very good at understanding or respecting anyone else's culture.
