Sean Avery: Gimme a Sloppy Second Chance!

Hockey hothead Sean Avery is scrambling to make up for the foul comments he made about his ex girlfriend, Elisha Cuthbert, by releasing this apology:

"I would like to sincerely apologize for my off-color remarks to the press yesterday from Calgary.

"I should not have made those comments and I recognize that they were inappropriate. It was a bad attempt to build excitement for the game, but I am now acutely aware of how hurtful my actions were. I caused unnecessary embarrassment to my peers as well as people I have been close with in the past.

"I apologize for offending the great fans of the NHL, the commissioner, my teammates, my coaching staff and the Dallas Stars management and ownership. As many of you know, I like to mix it up on and off the ice from time to time, but understand that this time I took it too far."

Sean was suspended indefinitely by the NHL for saying another hockey player was lapping up his "sloppy seconds" (Elisha) -- his apology came from SportingNews.com.

34. A suspension thats Bull!!! This is what Sean Avery does he gets under the skin of other players and changes the games dynamic in his teams favor. Look how he has all of these people upset, imagine the guy who it was directed at! Forget the girl who cares she will get over probablly got her all wet knowing he was talking about her; let her go man. But it would have been a good game to watch both of them all upset. The NHL & Stars f'd that one up. I can understand if most people dont get the game but this is the way he plays and many others aswell enforcers they will Fu*** you up mentaly and physically part of the game its not basketball or baseball or even your slow football. A totally different dynamic, he just happens to bang some pretty nice tail so its all talked about all the time. Same thing happened I Believe years ago before the lockout which did f up the hockey market...anyways there was some B.S. between Pavel Bure and Sergie Fedorov over The Tennis player Kornicova something like that they tried to make a big deal announcers would talk about the stuff during a game, who cared... His comments were nothing out of the ordinary, Why does someone have to tip-toe around ex-girlfriend lingo. If he would have used any other words like ex-girlfriend it would have been ok. Everyone knew his intentions to rally emotions for the game... Its rediculous to suspend and take away a persons job because of those lame comments "Sloppy Seconds". Whats said is done Avery should have realized man they were sloppy seconds or thirds or who knows when he got them...just save the trash talk for the ice and dont get all premadona on us using the media to voice your feelings over a lost ex Fu*** buddy g/f whatever. Somone else will sign Avery he will play again if dallas cant handle him; he is to good, not to play again plus... how else is he going to pull hot sluts without hockey! Hmm interesting!

35. I'd suggest that the individuals who posted comments, 3,4,12,20,21,23, and 24..go ask your sisters, mother, girlfriends or significant others if they mind being addressed as "sloppy seconds" it is disgusting, demeaning, hateful slam against women. Get a life morons..and apologize to your female family members who are not virgins or residing in a nunnery.

36. This situation hasnt been blown out of proportion at all..it is about time Avery's rotten behaviour catches up with him, so spare me the 'freedom of speech' and 'give the guy a break' whines. There is not a hint of sincerity in his so called 'apology'..he doesnt have the eloquence to even put a sentence together and the 'apology' was only released because he had no choice. This guy is despised on and off the ice and for very good reason..it is about time he is called out on his behaviour because he has been a menace and bullying a******* since he was a child. Why defend someone who thinks nothing of racial slurs, and obnoxious behaviour? This creep ridiculed Jason Blake when he found out he had cancer. Yep..a real winner right? He is as ugly on the inside as he is on the outside.

37. #34, if my sister was a HO, I would be the first to tell her so. The chick he was talking about is nothing but a puck fu*k. She is currently on her 4th hockey player in the past 2 years, and she got caught cheating on at least 2 of them. Justin Timberlake wrote a song about her (What goes around, comes around) after she got caught cheating on his friend. He is a HO, and it's about time someone called her out on it. It's chicks like her that give the rest of us a bad rap.

38. ITS ABOUT TIME!
Avery should have been suspended many times over by now. Guess this was the last straw. He was embarrassing and unsportsmanlike when he was on the Rangers, thank God NY got rid of him, now maybe the NHL will be free of him too.

39. It is about time that sports franchises hold their players up to a decent standard of conduct-seriously folks, these guys are paid a ridiculous sum of $$$$ to play a game they love- kids who love their respective sport look up to these people-is it asking to much to expect, as part of the deal, that they behave like decent, civilized human beings. Who here would be proud to say -thats my boy??? Really if you were offered the kind of cash this idiot is making, and in return all you had to do was play a game you love and excel at, and behave well in public you think you could manage it?????? So sick and tired of this crap from "professional" players- from the national felony league to the NHL I can not stand what has become of sport, and the low expectations we as a society have . Pathetic

40. Nice Mouth Sean, hope it was worth 15 million dollars. I guess the HHOF won't be knocking on your door anytime soon. Loser.
If you weren't playing hockey, you would prolly be digging ditches. Please don't tell anyone you're Canadian.

41. Elisha Cuthbert makes me want to sharpen my skates again.
Nothing Avery said was so offensive per se, but given his whole history of behavior, they're the cherry on the top of his Dallas sundae.
So hats off to Dallas for getting rid of him and tops off to Elisha for moving on from him.too.
PS To Elisha; I played Ivy League hockey. Can I have a little, too, please?

42. Bottom-line is that Sean Avery is a dirtbag.

He apologized to everyone except Elisha Cuthbert and Osama bin Ladin (and he offended only one of those two). He's proof-positive that white-trash involves those who are well-off as well as individuals who are poor.

It will be interesting now to see who is willing to pick-up the Dallas Stars' "sloppy seconds"---which team will risk adding him to their roster now that the Stars clearly don't want anything to do with him anymore? Personally, I think he would look great in a brown and orange uniform asking drive-thru customers "Would you like fries with that?"

On second thought, even this line of work will be too god for that little puke.
