Vick's Incarceration Day Shopping Spree

12/7/2008 11:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Sometimes the day you report to jail can be the busiest shopping day of all.

Records now show that Falcons former quarterback Michael Vick blew through a staggering $201,840 on the day he reported to jail on felony dog fighting charges, according to AJC.com.

His "To Do List" that day looked something like this:

Buy new Mercedes -- $99,000
Cash Checks laying around house -- $24,900
Give money to mom of my oldest kid -- $28,000
Give "friend" some money -- $16,000
Misc. last minute impulse buys -- $10,940
Bunch of money to PR firm -- $23,000
NOTE: Find out what "PR" stands for.

Guess this sheds a bit more light on how he was able to burn through $18.2 million from 2006 to 2008.

I am confused. If this was the day he was reporting to jail, then why did he need to buy a new car?

TMZ thank you for another article on the monster VICK. I will seize the moment with this:

Do you know how to electrocute a dog? We don’t. Have you recently purchased a piece
of property exclusively for your dog hobby? Most of us have not. After initially
lying to Authorities, Michael Vick paid lawyers asked for
forgiveness of his “mistakes”. Those “mistakes” that have left a trail of evidence
dating back to 2001, right after he signed a $150,000,000 contract with the Falcons.

If you feel forgiving, you haven’t read the federal indictment which was about to
become even worse when he accepted the plea deal. Mr. Vick would rather have his
image appear as though he made a few “mistakes”, than what would have come out while
testifying about the brutal execution and torture of the dogs that had the unfortunate
fate of belonging to Vick and his friends.

Vick’s “mistakes” include hanging, drowning, shooting and slamming
his dog’s bodies to the ground if they didn’t rip and tear their opponents apart
over at least a six year period of time.

Thank you, Air Tran for taking decisive action when the word came out about what
kind of person he is. The same goes for Reebok, Rawlings, and ultimately Nike.

Why is the NFL acting slower than the federal government in deciding how to deal
with Mr. Vick? It’s all about the money. I hope you will join in making sure VIck is not considered ny the NFL again.

We are not a member of PETA or the HSUS. The NFL will paint these groups as extreme.
I contribute generously to our local shelter. We have bought many products that
support the NFL up until now. But we plan to send a message to the NFL to take decisive
action, in the only way that seems to matter to them.

Do you remember those Superbowl commercials with the cute Dalmatian puppies, the
beautiful horses playing football? And there is always the Clydesdales. Anheuser
Busch paid millions of dollars to the NFL to bring these commercials to animal lovers
like us.

Other significant sponsors of the NFL include:

Coors
Miller Distributing
Subway Restaurants
Quiznos
Pepsi
Coke
Doritos
Sierra Mist
Go-daddy.com

There are many others.

If Vick is allowed back to the NFL, then we are done watching the NFL and more importantly supporting the NFL through
these sponsors until they throw Vick to the curb.

We don’t wish Michael Vick the best. We wish the 60 or so victims of Bad Newz Kennels
that are distributed across the state in local shelters the best.

You can help tell these sponsors to tell the NFL to take action immediately and
stop condoning the thug image of Michael Vick. Maybe then they will stop hiding and looking for a politically
correct position. Enough is enough.

Help spread the word.

An anonymous dog lover.

I don't care how he spent his money!! I just hope he is given a second chance in pro-football! He is a great player and deserves another shot.

And one more thing...Vick did kill animals he owned. I personally don't agree with what he did. But Sarah Palin shoots moose, deer and wolves from helicopters. Animals that are in the wild and not owned by anyone. Why isn't she seen in the same light as Vick? Hell, she even brings her kids to watch her kill animals!!

Free Mike Vick....he should have been punished. But he should not lose his career behind this!

i went to virginia tech and saw michael vick play many times, he is amazing. now heres how he blew through all that money-he never had money before the NFL so when he suddenly was rich, he bought EVERYTHING...to me that is sad. and i am quite worried about our new quarterback tyrod taylor following in michaels footsteps. also, about the dog fighting stuff, it is truely horrible but michael got screwed by his "friends". How often was michael in VA to participate? not often considering he was in the ATL playing football a lot of the year. Yes, he financed it but his so called friends did most of the dog fighting and blamed michael for all of it. i hope he goes back into the NFL because he is a phenomenal player.

Vick, co-defendants found humor in killing of helpless dogs

Written by clasidog on Nov-22-08 9:31am Posted: Saturday November 22, 2008 12:27AM; Updated: Saturday November 22, 2008 12:35AM
Michael Vick’s roots in dogfighting can be traced back to ‘99 while at Virginia Tech
Vick recently moved from Kansas to Virginia, the site of his state dogfighting trial
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Michael Vick put family pets in rings with pit bulls and thought it was funny watching the trained killers injure or kill the helpless dogs, a witness told federal investigators during the dogfighting investigation that brought Vick down.

In a 17-page report filed Aug. 28, 2008, by case agent James Knorr of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and released Friday under the Freedom of Information Act, a person identified as confidential witness No. 1 said Vick placed pets in the ring against pit bulls owned by “Bad Newz Kennels” at least twice and watched as the pit bulls “caused major injuries.”

The witness said Vick and co-defendants Purnell Peace and Quanis Phillips “thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs.”

Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison in Dec. 2007, and is due to be released from the federal prison at Leavenworth, Kan., on July 20, 2009. He returned to Virginia on Thursday and is being held in Hopewell pending his appearance in Surry County Circuit Court on Tuesday, where he is expected to plead guilty to two felony charges but receive a suspended sentence.

The report, which has some names and other information redacted to protect some of the parties involved, also details the killing of several dogs at property Vick owned on Moonlight Road in Surry County in mid-April 2007, just days before the first search warrant was executed on the property, turning a drug investigation into the one that sent Vick to prison.

It says Vick was administered a polygraph test by the FBI in October 2007 and denied taking part in the killing of dogs in mid-April. When told he had failed that part of the test, Vick recanted his story and admitted to helping hang six to eight underperforming dogs.

The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, once the highest paid player in the NFL, has been suspended indefinitely by the league and his football future is uncertain. He’s also in the midst of bankruptcy proceedings with $16 million in assets and $20.4 million in liabilities.

Peace, who also was convicted in the case, said there were times he suggested that dogs unwilling to fight be given away, but that Vick said “they got to go,” meaning be killed.

The dogs were killed by shooting, hanging, electrocution and drowning, and in at least one instance, according to one of the witnesses, when Vick and Phillips killed a red pit bull by “slamming it to the ground several times before it died, breaking the dog’s back or neck.”

My comments: How do you know that I also do not focus on children as well? Hey T CUE, have you heard of Jeffrey Dahmer? He started with deriving pleasure from harming animals too.... Vick is a menace to our society. HE also did so much harm to all the littly tykes that looked up to him, as well as to our society. I will stand up for animals including pet family members until the day I die and I will not ever apologize for doing so.
