Abdul Attacks Idol: They Knew About Stalker

Paula Abdul is pissed off -- and lashing out at "American Idol," claiming she begged "Idol" producers to keep suicidal fan Paula Goodspeed off the show -- but even after the desperate warning, the dangerously obsessed fan made the show anyway.

Just moments ago on "The View," Babwa went into detail about an interview she did with Paula on her Sirius radio show last night, where Abdul also claimed she's the victim of a three-way conspiracy to ruin her career -- and the perps are bigwigs at Fox, "Idol" and Simon Cowell himself.

"Idol" already added a fourth judge to the new season -- which, in Barbara's opinion, will be Paula's last.

16. in a way, i think she's kinda right but i dont think she was serious about simon ruining her career, maybe she said it sarcastically and was misunderstood. she has always said simon help her get her career back on track and help her to push forward and idol help her in a time when she didnt know what she was going to do with her career, so why would she just start hatin on them now? something is a miss, i dont think she was quoted properly or was understood.

17. Paula said that the woman stalked her for almost 20 yrs. She knew who this woman was. For American Idol to put this poor sick woman on helped fuel her disorder. Paula must have told them about her when she saw her name. Not only did they still put her on but aired it on the show. This was a sick joke by the people on AI.

18. I have to agree with TINALOUISE and Miss Minerva. What career?
Girlfriend, your A-List days are O-V-E-R....
Live with it. It doesn't mean you can't have a life.
It doesn't mean that you are not talented and not a good person.
You just can't act like like you think you are entitled.
And, please, stop blaming everyone else and everything else for your problems.
Get some rehab if necessary.

19. American Idol probably did know about Paula's stalker, and did not care. AI producers should be more careful of the people they exploit for ratings.

20. I find it curious that Paula says this girl Paula Goodspeed stalked her for 17 almost 18 years (see People.com) and yet the girl was only 30 and didn't even live in LA until the last few years. So we are supposed to believe that it is the truth that this girl stalked her from the time she was 12 or 13. I find that a bit of a stretch from a woman who is known for her unpredictable and histrionic behavior.

21. I saw the View this morning and Paula said something to the effect that Simon is in her ear piece saying strange things that make her look confused. I don't know this for sure but is there any way Paula was talking about the AI creator Simon Fuller instead of Simon Cowell. As I recall, this mistake has been make before and it also doesn't make any sense that while Paula's trying to talk Simon Cowell is talking to her in her ear piece because he is on the panel and we would see this. Makes more sense that the crew or the higher ups would be feeding her lines.

I'm not really a fan of either Simon Cowell or Paula's either. I do think it was a low move to put Paula's known stalker in the same room as Paula and then to put her on the show (as a laughable reject) was the ultimate, Those producers that let her "audition" should be ashamed!!

22. Idol really screwed her over in this situation. Why would let in a person who has been known to harrass Paula? I mean, I know they're after ratings and entertainment....but that's over the edge. It's about time idol is held responsible for some things. No wonder Clarkson wants to distance herself from that mess of a show.

23. Having worked in the legal sector for years, I'd like to think a lot of people have common sense about the law. But, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

The irresponsible, reckless and unprofessional behaviour exhibited by the AI staff (re: audition incident) would have been enough to at least challenge the contract in front of the judge. While that is in California and I have no experience with California law, I can say that in Florida third party contact between two people with injunctions/restraining orders is barred. The injunctions also usually cover home, cars, and work if properly filled out.

I'm sure there's some form of morals clause in her contract or something similar that governs her public behaviour particularly when related to AI. I hope they don't use these interviews to fire or sue her. At the end of the day, if it did wind up in court, I'd put my money on Paula winning.

24. Paula said she was stalked for 17 years. The lady was only 27- do the math- So, a 10 year old was a stalker? Paula is a liar and a pill head- disgraceful.

25. If you want the real story about Idol and Paula and her drug use read Stage 46 the American Idol tell all. I know the author and yes the book is about the show. He doesn't hold anything back when it comes to how the show exploits all the contestants and of course all of Paula's drug use.

26. The timing of all of this is a little suspicious. This happened a while ago but now when Idol is about to start again and she is launching a jewelry line she is addressing it. Its all BS and she is trying to get publicity. Pretty low if you ask me.
