33. This is not a thyroid problem! It's an eating-too-much-and-not-exercising problem. I have thyroid problems and because I take the meds, diet and exercise A LOT, I stay at a healthy weight. If you're Hypo you can blame maybe 10 pounds on the thyroid, but that's about it. Just like people without thyroid problems--if you eat too much and don't exercise you will gain weight. Taking the thyroid meds just gets your metabolism in line, but you still have to diet and exercise. they aren't miracle pills.
That being said, I think Oprah looks fine and if she's healthy at her weight then who cares? I do wish she would stop bringing her weight and body-image issues to the public, just get on the treadmill, take your synthroid, be healthy and don't worry about what the public and the press think.

34. Oprah, back off from the trough, put down the ladle and exercise muscles other than your mouth. The only reason that Oprah is mentioning this is for damage control. She knows she can't lose the weight before the inauguration and she knows everyone is going to see she's blown up again so she's getting it out there in hopes that the news will die down before then. It isn't going to work. She loves the publicity though. Good, bad, makes no difference. She now has everyone's attention. Forget what kind of dress Michelle Obama is going to be wearing. All will be looking to see what kind of dress Oprah is going to hide that ton of lard under...this time.

38. OK, all you fat haters. Would you ever say the things you say to people with other issues? NO! But, for some reason, people think they can just spout off hatred for heavier people. Being thin does not give you Oprah's heart. Being thin does not give you Oprah's brain. Being thin does not give you Oprah's success. I just think it is such a shame that she is embarrassed by her failure at weight loss. Oprah, it makes you HUMAN. I just wish she would accept herself. Instead, she puts herself up there on her show with all of these health "experts" who are saying all the things that everyone must do. Then, she sits there feeling like a failure. She should stop putting herself in that position. It's like she is punishing herself when those people are her guests. The funny thing is that I don't even watch her show because I can't stand all of those self-help gurus that she has on there.
I think she should change the format and just be real. Could she lose some weight, of course. But, geez. Give her a break.

She has gyms, personal trainers, maids, chefs (just to name a few)...and she's fat cause all she does is eat and talk. If she's not eating, she's telling everyone how wonderful she is and if she's not telling everyone how wonderful she is then she's eating. Instead of having buns of steel she has jaws of steel. No other muscles on the planet have been worked like that woman's jaw muscles.

45. yet another reason this country has become so crazy. a woman who has changed millions of lives, donated 100s of millions of dollars, risen from poverty and against HUGE odds become on of the most powerful and influential people in the world, dedicated her life to bettering herself and the lives of millions is worried about being fat!!!!

what an ugly society we have become if a person can accomplish so much and help so many, and be judged on such a superficial thing! sad, sad, sad!!!!!!!!!!!!
