17. Blake's true talent would be to be the meat in a Larry Birkhead/Howard K Stern Sandwich!! what a douche bag.....beat boxing isnt a talent!!!

18. Just curious how many of the people who think this dude isn't talented are actual musicians. As one myself, this boy has more talent than should be allowed. Stop judging the weight issue or the AI shows or the jealousy that he's know around the country and you're not. The AI thing was just plain lame but go see him live and you will truly see where this guys talent lies. You'd be shocked how much musical skills this guy and his band have. Classically trained pianist, can play the trumpet, guitar, bass and drums and loops crazy. He's also an awesome performer and good with the chit-chat that keeps the concert on a casual level.

19. So, Poster #15, what would you do, go to a business meeting and maybe work out a new music deal or stay home to make an appearance and blow off a career opportunity? I surmise you have no job and no heart so it's not a choice you'd have to make.
Good for Blake for being persistent and working hard doing something he loves. He's also really good at it. The real world does not revolve around American Idol. It's too bad some of the posters can't let it go.

20. Blake is doing club shows in front of 30 people. Well, that's when his shows aren't cancelled outright. I'm glad he still makes four or five lonely women happy. I guess that means he serves a purpose.

21. That dumbass performed back in October in my hometown and was so obviously hungover it was ridiculous. I wanted my money back. Between that and the fact that there were probably no more than 80 people at the show, I'm pretty sure his career is on the fast track to nowhere.

22. How much weight has this guy gained since AI? He's almost as wide as he is tall.

23. Actually I have been Tour Manager for 2 multi platinum selling bands...am currently managing a very well known comedian......and in my PROFESSIONAL opinion this Blake guy has absolutely no talent whatsoever...what a joke!!

24. I dunno... seems like loneliest people scour the internet for articles about people they hate, so that they can stew over it together. Blake makes music that appeals to a wide demographic but he can't appeal to everyone.

25. Blake is a tenacious, hard-working musician---there is not a moment that he is not pushing himself, recording, producing, writing, brainstorming, interviewing, performing (except when he is raising money and awareness for children's cancer and rescue animal shelters). To all the people who believe he is without talent, that's an individual decision. I personally think half the people who are hit-makers suck. With Blake, he just isn't mainstream--his songs have actually done very well on the dance charts, which isn't the same ten tired songs you hear on the radio. To all the people who believe he is a douche, I know you don't know him then. I've seen him sign autographs at a multi-artist concert when no one else would until his manager physically pulled him away, stick around until everyone who wanted an autograph left at one of his shows, rush over to give a birthday hug to a little girl holding a sign, get down on his knees to interact with his littlest fans (and help them play guitar or beat box), tidy up after other people at a meet and greet, and, in general, be infinitely more approachable than even local bands. He's close to his parents, close to his pre-idol friends, and beloved by some of the top musician-songwriters like Ryan Tedder. His biggest problem is that he isn't fake--he has yet to learn how to craft and hide behind a public persona. A diplomat? No. A musician? Yes.
So, while I've always hated that particular damn hat of his, I choose to ignore it.

26. #23...reality check...that doesn't make you a musician...you don't actually think it does do you? LOL.
And yep, some people won't get him and that's okay too. You obviously are one of the people. You must likely frequent this site, so my guess is that you are a negative person in general, but that's your problem not mine.....and maybe even a bit lonely if you come here often. I'm only on this site because this website popped up as having news on Blake, whom I agree is very talented. I've met him and jammed with him and I think he will go places in good time so I'm following his career and watching news on him, just like I do with other musicians who I think are worth it. He is extremely approachable and down to earth and yep he's one of those struggling musicians. Oh, #23I bet you know what that means....being in the managering business and all. I'm one of those and just because I don't have a million fans or sell a million records doesn't make me any less a musician. Actually, it probably makes me more of one.
I'm not a lonely women....not even a women actually. Nope, not gay or any of the other things you tmz readers will throw at me. I live near a club Blake played at and I've played there myself a few times. He was gracious and fun and granted he probably did play shows hungover or drunk, but the who the hell doesn't. This getting on stage and entertaining people for a few hours is tough sometimes.
When I met him he had a great time with the people before, during and after the show. He hung with me and some other people after the autograph signing and has great goals for his life. He was positive about his AI experience, just didn't think it was the best thing for his music style. Maybe some of you nay-sayers should try making it in this business before you judge others who are struggling. Of course, that non-judging part is going to be very tricky for some of you.

27. I wasn't a big Blake fan on Idol, but I won't put him down like some folks are doing here. Idol has a way of promoting only what they feel is tried and true: pop, country, or R&B artists who can frequently be formulaic. Jordin Sparks has a very nice voice, but isn't unique to the industry. Blake did not fit the Idol mold, and they didn't care to figure out a way to promote someone like him. Best of luck - he's quirky and different, but will find his place. Anyone know if he is still seeing Haley Scarnato?

28. While I didn't follow Blake Lewis on American Idol, I did hear him badmouthing another contestant on a Jacksonville Radio Station and he came off like a total, self righteous A Hole. And in response to some of the other posts here...it's not possible to be jealous of someone who is "known around the country" if that's not a goal. I'm not a musician, and I have no desire to be "known around the country"...but if I did..I certainly wouldn't sabotage myself by acting like such an Ass towards others who might have been fans.

29. By the way yall should know by now not to criticize people based on there weight that's why there is anorexics and obese people there, Blake is very talented and his songs are very good, I know that we are all expressing our opinions but we all must respect each other ..we all have a right to be diverse.. Liking deferent kinds of music and singers,
