This doesn't count for children who grow up to have it because one of their parents did, nothing you can do about that.

Herpes simplex 1 causes cold sores and most common way of transmitting is kissing, for instance parents kissing their babies, that's why kids have cold sores. All cold sores come from herpes.

21. You people need to get informed. The cold sore kind is NOT an STD. People can have have the STD kind and still never get a lip cold sore. Other people can have the cold sore and not have an STD. So some child who has a cold sore, it is not b/c one of their parents slept around!!!

29. Many people get cold sores, and they are not sexually promiscuous either. My 6 year old got a cold sore one time. Therefore, I agree with Snapple Tea. Some of you are just being ridiculous.
