61. That doesn't look like a fever blister. cold sore, etc. It looks like her lips became very dry and she picked at them trying to remove dead skin.

62. Herpes may or may not be transmitted through sexual contact.

Actually, Herpes is no big deal.

But certain rightwing nutcases and the "Abstinence Only" movement have blown Herpes clear out of proportion.

Mandy's parents seem to have worked overtime to scare her away from sex. LOL.

63. People like " Mandy" who try to convince themselves and others that they are so much better usually aren't.

In fact, these "ladies" usually turn into the nastiest whores you can find.

64. How old are you? It seems that you still don't get the concept of a STD. If the parents got it through sexual contact, then it's a STD for them because that is how it was TRANSMITTED to each other for them. There are "three main TRANSMISSION routes for HIV. There is STD (which is transmitted sexually), mother to child (obviously if the mother has the kid), and blood or blood product (though blood drops in a cut or sharing of needles)." Depending on how you got it, that is how it is "transmitted". So if the mother ends up having the kid...that is how it is transmitted. The main focus here is the word TRANSMITTED. You need to understand that part. It's just a word to described how it is TRANSMITTED...if you don't know what the word means, it means "To send or forward, as to a recipient or destination; dispatch; convey." It is not the word that describes WHAT the disease is like what you are saying. So if it is transmitted any other way other than sexual contact, it is not called a sexually transmitted disease because that's not how the recipient got it! Is that so hard to understand for you?

Please go study some more! Your last sentence is the only one that made sense, too bad you don't understand the whole concept behind it yet.

68. "Oral herpes, an infection caused by the herpes simplex virus, is estimated to be present in 50 to 80 percent of the American adult population. 20 percent, over 50 million people, are infected with genital herpes, also caused by the herpes simplex virus, and the majority of these cases may be unaware they even have it" herpes.com

If 50 to 80 percent of the U.S. population carries the oral herpes virus, then I am sure dear sweet Mandy has a pretty good chance of carrying it too.

69. I've been lucky enough to have never had a cold sore and I'm HSV negative for 1 and 2. It's embaressing enough for people who have them to have to walk around with them and even more humiliating that people make everyone with them seem like skanks and sluts. Yes cold sores are herpes but who cares. Worry about where you put your own mouth and not where everyone else has put theirs. You can catch it from anyone that you've kissed even without signs of it on them through assymetrical shedding. So instead of blogging about how nasty everyone else is, be thankful if you dont have it and more concerned with requesting to get tested for HSV in case you do and it's dormant.

70. I'm hoping Mandy gets a big whopping cold sore right in the corner of her mouth.

71. According Dr. Craig Austin, a dermatologist in New York City, cold sores usually aren't a sexually transmitted disease (STD). They are caused by the herpes simplex virus. There are two kinds of herpes virus: HSV-1, which is usually not an STD and occurs on the lip, and HSV-2, which usually causes herpes genitalis, which is essentially an STD in the genital area. Both viruses can be transmitted by saliva, body secretions or oral sex. If you contract either kind of herpes you will always have the virus because the cold sore lives in the sensory nerve and stays dormant in the nerve until outbreaks occur.

72. Face herpes can easily turn into genital herpes if you let someone with face herpes suck you off or eat you out down there.

73. Chicken Pox and the common cold are viruses. Are they sexually transmitted? Not all viruses are contacted exclusively through sexual contact. Just as there are some bacteria's that are sexually transmitted (i.e. Gonorrhea/Chlamydia) and there are others that are acquired from other sources such as mosquitoes, contaminated food/water sources etc. Good lord. Mandy, we all like to think our parents are the know all and be all but that is not always the case. You are a prefect example of ignorance being passed down from generation to generation.

74. btw Mandy, not all STD's are viruses. Please pick up a book.

75. Not every person who gets cold sores acquires the virus through sex. You can get it through skin contact or when little children play together at daycare in close proximity. It is also does not always mean that their parents got it through sex either.
