Michael Jackson's New Crib

He's been teetering on the financial brink for years, yet we've learned somehow Michael Jackson has rented a home in one of the most exclusive areas of L.A. for a whopping $100,000 a month.

Launch photos
The $38 million Holmby Hils pad has seven bedrooms, 13 baths, 12 fireplaces, a screening room and, of course, a cellar for Jesus juice. For sleepovers, there's a guest house, swimming pool and garden.

The deal was inked several weeks ago under a heavy-duty confidentiality agreement. Michael already has stayed there.

32. Quetou,
It says he is renting the house so I think that that does mean he is hurting financially. If he wasn't he would have bought it. Well see what happens over the next several months & whether or not he can make his payments. Oh & if it is hard for you to wrap your brain around how & why a millionaire pop singer can go broke well, think about this, when he was at the top & making 100's of milions of dollars he was living like a billionaire. The really wealthy can live over their budget too & can loose a lot of their money.

37. If anybody believes MJ is broke or sick, they need to just stop it. The man is not broke, he's not sick. If he's broke, then how can he fly all over the world, pay his nannies, dress his kids, etc. etc. He aint broke; and he aint sick. Don't believe it.

38. As for the Beatles' catalog, I believe he has either had to sign it away and/or has long borrowed against futures royalties for years to come. As for this house, my guess would be the owner didn't know it was Jackson renting it. A), it's doubtful he can afford it and B) no way in hell does he need a house of this size. For a guy w/no job and zero income I don't see how he can afford any house much less one of this size? Other than that, I thought he put down roots in Vegas?? If carnival rides and a make-shift zoo suddenly show up, everybody better run as fast as they can.

39. according to media reports (CBS, etc), he needs a lung transplant...before valuable organs are wasted on this creep, one would hope that a 'non-perv' recipient could be found who won't celebrate his recovery by molesting another child

41. Janet can afford the 1.2 mil a year rent. The Jackson family has money even if Wacko is broke. Mama and Papa Jackson were very good with money and they saved ... the only thing, I would never rent or buy this residence now, even if it was free ... I would not want to live in a place that had the molestors karma. I wouldn't even want to live on the same block and since it is near the Hefner Mansion (ie. THE OLD DECREPIT PERVERT MANSION) the neighborhood is pretty bad. You might as well live next to a brothel as live in Homby Hills.

43. You all may think this man is BROKE!!!! Keep believing
the hype of all this media!!! If they stated the moon is
red, some of you who really don't know would believe that
hype as well... This man is far from broke... It's this thing
called publicity in which the public tend to buy into wishing
ill on someone just because of an alleged past. There's only
the group of people who really know the truth of this man's
past and we the public are not in that group. If any of you
were flies on the wall to see what was really done behind
closed doors, that's a whole other story--but we weren't there
to witness this. I'm kind of straying from the issue at hand so
let me get back on track. This man is far from broke-- do you
know the woth of this man with what he has in his possesion??
MJ is probably somewhere in one of his back rooms laughing
at all of this negativity on his behalf--laughing all the way to
the bank... If he was this or that broke as the media states, do
you think he would actually go out on a limb and rent at this
outrageous price?? So, you choose to let the media influence
your beliefs, while this man laughs his a$$ off all the way to
the bank. ALL PUBLICITY FOR THE DUMBFOUNDED PUBLIC
TO FALL FOR WHAT IS JUST NEGATIVITY ON ONE MAN!!!
It's them hoping and wishing for this man's downfall. If you can't
read between the lines, why try to read at all. Also, with all that's
going on in the world right now. Shouldn't the headlines mainly
be focused on the economy, all of these bailouts and where can
people who suffer a loss of a job go to find work... Shouldn't that
be a big part of headlines to get this country back on track... But,
I see the public loves scandals--instead of dealing with what's really
real. The poor families that are out of house and homes are another
major issue--how about that!!!! Why can't that make headlines as such
the celebrities and all what's going on in their private-public lives. I
say leave them be and focus on what's really important getting us back
on track economic wise...

44. Now how in the world does TMZ know Michael Jackson actually rented this house?!

45. Acquiring that "Beatles" music catalog was the smartest business move Michael Jackson ever made. According to reports, Michael has come THISCLOSE to selling it several times, to pay off his debts. But so far, he's been smart/lucky enuf to avoid bankruptcy and hold onto the Beatles catalog. (If he'd filed for bankruptcy, the court could have forced him to sell the catalog and to use the $ to pay off his creditors). From what I've heard, the only reason Michael has avoided bankruptcy is thanks to his sister Janet bailing him out. Now, with Michael spending $100K a month to rent a mansion, it seems like he hasn't learned anything from his close-calls with bankruptcy. (I wish some of these celebs would learn to live within their means). I understand Michael's need for privacy, but couldn't he have rented a condo on Sunset for $10-20K a month? Those buildings are like iron fortresses, and the rent would probably have kept Michael out of the poorhouse, where he seems hell-bent on going.
