Rick Warren -- Out of the Closet!

12/23/2008 2:24 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Rick Warren, the pastor who will deliver the invocation next month for Barack Obama, apparently is doing a little image-adjusting in West Hollywood.

Rick Warren
We got this pic, taken yesterday at Out of the Closet thrift store. That's Warren on the right (naturally), his arm around Erol Sarabi, who is openly gay. Warren, who supports the ban on gay marriage which has not sat real well with some Obama supporters, bought 8 to 10 books, two of which were his own (that doesn't help with his Amazon ranking). Warren told Sarabi not to believe everything he reads, that he does a lot for AIDS research and was happy that Out of the Closet does free AIDS testing.

Warren also said he met with Melissa Etheridge recently and the two planned to have dinner together -- go figure.

By the way, Warren gave a signed copy of his book to Sarabi. The inscription from the Bible, Proverbs 19:21: "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."

Rick Warren is a phony, no matter the subject. Why anyone would pay attention to him is beyond me. He's a phony pastor too.

If you don't believe everything that you read, then go to youtube and hear it for yourself.

This man needs to stop kissing babies and appologize explicitly for the things he has said, not just THE WORDS that he choose. His denegration of gay people is deplorable. He choose the most debased analogies he could think of to describe our relationships. I am waiting for him to repeat his words and then tell us why he was wrong to have THOUGHT and SAID them.

Who cares what a windbag religious hypocrite thinks about my entitlement to the same rights as the repressive majority enjoy? You are not advancing our cause by giving exposure and free press coverage to a bigot who believes we should be second class citizens. And Obama, like so many other self serving politicians in the past, will mouth platitudes to many groups to attract campaign contributions and votes, but in return for that support, will deliver nothing of signifigant value. Actions, not words. Watch and remember, and when it's reelection time , judge them on their record.

Obama is against gay marriage, but I do not believe that he thinks gays are going to burn in hell. If he does, then he should say so.

Rick Warren seems to have involved himself in a lot of politics. No separation of church and state for him! Perhaps it's time that his church lost its tax exempt status.

Sarah Palin better watch out. Rick Warren is preparing for his political future with his hypocricy. I believe he'll try to burn Barack Obama with two years. He's not commited to Obama, he's committed to his ideology.

I think Rick Warren and Rev. Schuller are alike. They are show business wannabe's and hungry for money, (other peoples).

Rick Warren is a media whore. He'd be for or against anything as long as you spell his name right.

Christers are the true idiots! They open their pie holes and then everything you hear shows that they truly are dumber than a bucket of hair. I feel sorry for the uneducated on here that dont understand that it was the left and the gays that gave Obama money to win this election. The christers and fundies and neocons did not give any money or support to this newly elected president. So all you christers keep up your yap-yap because it continually shows us all how truly ignorant and dumb you really are. Cheers.

Rick Warran is a sideshow. The most important part of the Inauguration will be Obama's speech and you can bet that it will be specifically calling for a renewed inclusiveness. Rick Warren may have learned something valuable -- many evangelicals would not be trying to cover their bottoms. At any rate, I am not terribly alarmed. The Benediction is being given by a pastor who welcomes gays to his church.

Give me a break people. This is the socalled preacher that said and i quote: The Bible is the law of our land. Now last time i looked and read our forefathers signed the dec of indipendence to get away from the british rule because the british wanted no separation of church and state. and our forefathers wanted nothing to do with that. Hence the revolutionary war.
Mister preacher also says our bill of rights and constitution were based from the bible. sorry people but thats a load of BS. Those of you who live in california this is why prop 8 did not get overturned because of these so-called christian people. these people who are no more then judgemental, condasinding, and down right retarded.

Look at Rick Warren.....that man is gay. There is NOTHING about him that says STRAIGHT MALE to me. A LOT of people who have issues with homosexuals are fighting those tendacies THEMSELVES!!!!!! I can't even picture him making love to a woman. I don't care if he is married with 20 children......he is fighting his OWN urges.
