Oprah Fooled Again by Fake Love Tale

Oprah Winfrey called Herman Rosenblat's tale of how he met his wife in a concentration camp "the single greatest love story" she'd ever heard. Only problem -- it isn't true.

Rosenblat, who survived the Holocaust as a young boy, had written a memoir telling the story of meeting his wife of 50 years when she was a farm girl who tossed apples over the fence at a concentration camp. Then, claimed Herman, he met Mrs. R. 12 years later on a blind date. Well, lovely though it was, the story was made up, and now the memoir is being yanked -- and Oprah is once again red-faced over a story she championed very publicly.

Oprah gushed over James Frey's alleged memoir "A Million LIttle Pieces," only to find it was faked.

31. If the book was marketed as being an autobiographical piece, then I would have believed it to be such too.

And also, just to add to the other side talk going on in here: I trust NO politician. They ALL lie. It's more-so about picking the lesser evil but unfortunately when it comes down to choosing, everyone's perception is different.

32. The couple involved in the LOVE story were both on Oprah as well as other shows, they were very convincing, there was no reason not to believe them.

34. I think Oprah is a idiot and to trusting of people. I voted for Obama so it is not always about her support for Obama. Oprah fell for Jennifer Aniston garbage and Jen was lying to her face. I thought that was funny. It seems Oprah is all about a big show and not about the truth.
Look how Oprah fell for that James Frey guy who lied about his book. How many other show themes are big lies because she just wanted the ratings.
I don't trust nothing she says. Oprah did not convince me to vote for Obama. I think Oprah fake like she is innocent but I think she is as deceitful as any person trying to scrap for as much money as she can get.

35. How did we get from Oprah, and a book she promoted that turned out to be fiction, to the president elect? I suspect that this is a sort of psychological illness whereby intelligence and cognitive skills have been suspended or otherwise deteriorated by an addicion to adrenaline. Get angry, pump up the adrenaline, and obscure connections can be made that feel good but have little support by reason and logic. What does the president elect have to do with Oprah? Let's see. Oprah has a talk show with a wide audience. The presedent elect, while camaigning, used this forum to promote his campaign for presidency. Oprah is in the business of entertainment. The book is apparently entertaining, Dr. Oz is entertaining, president elect Obama is entertaining, and a parade of other celebrities that are highlighted on Oprah are entertaining. What is presented on Oprah's show? Oprah presents what her audience finds entertaining. And sometimes, politics is entertaining. On the other hand, entertainment is hardly politics. Anyone who measures the value and content of a politician based upon the talk show host has cognitive skills that are highly suspect. It's like judging the value of a president based on the picture frame his portrait is mounted in. Or determining that someone who shops at a convinience store that was held up by a robber the day before is therefore a robber.
It strikes me as more of a psychological illness that has some utility in that it errors on the side of personal protection. And yet, it restricts them from opportunities to improve life and society. Here is a clue...methamphetamines is, for all practical purposes, a form on adrenaline. (Google "methamphetamines and adrenaline" for references) Exessive use of methamphetamines causes paranoid delusions and cognitive leaps on the order of conspiracy theories. Just as well, excessive use of one's own adrenaline causes paranoid delusions and cognitive leaps. And it feels really good to get all "pumped up". "Obama" = "Oprah" is one such delusional leap. These adrenaline junkies might just as well go with .... "They both start with the letter "O" and both contain five letters. The second letter in each is a reflection of the other on a horizontal axis. Therefore, "Obama" is just like "Oprah"."
We need only to listen to The Savage Nation or Rush Limbaugh for five minutes to get that it's all about the adrenaline and nothing about the actual reason of the connections. Any connections that gives them another adrenaline rush is all that they are after. They are drug addicts only they don't need to buy it off the street, their brain produces it for them.

38. It's her responsiblity to do the reserch and background check. Why do she get excussed just because she didn't do the checks. Oprah is pathetic. I decided I'm not watching that show any more, so sick of her trying to fake like she is God. When it's all about the money.

39. She supported Barry Tesoro, aka Barack Obama, aka "Puff The Magic Negro" for President. So what is surprising about her supporting another "fraud production".

40. Maybe she needs to take a clue from some of her favorite writers like ANgelous and Walker who would tell her all writers take liberties. Unless someone is advertising their book as an autobiography or a history text they can put whatever they want in their books. Even most novels have some aspects of the author's experience in them. She needs to deal with the power of the book rather than worrying about how true it is.

45. 4. "Oprah is an idiot. She is only rich by accident."-- You wish. Oprah has more brains in her pinkey toe, than you'll ever hope to have. You don't build an empire from nothing, "by accident." Sounds like you're the idiot. Blame the victim instead of the one who did the wrong, only in America!! Then again, instead of being honest about the situation, Oprah could always take a page from the republicans, and DENY & LIE!!
