She's possibly one of the dumbest actresses, alongside Margo Stilley, to ever step onto a screen in Hollywood. She has no class whatsoever, and she's a poor actress to boot, she's bland and boring, and the Brown Bunny, by Vincent Gallo, also showed how much of a classless waster Vincent Gallo is, as well, when he hoped Ebert's cancer would pretty much kill him.
But anyway, Sevigny has no class.

I kept reading all of these comments referring to "The Brown Bunny" & I had to look it up.
This was not skin flick, it was a serious movie & I personally think its pretty awesome that an an Academy Award & Golden Globe nominated actress dared to get so raw for the sake of a film that she believed in.

It was not daring to 'perform' how she did, and it most certainly was not classy. The movie is onew ofthe worst films ever comitted to celluloid, and she knows that, as she was in the audience in Cannes. Daring it was not, stupid it most certainly was. She whored herself out for a role, and made a prostiture of herself., Would someone call Heidi Fleiss classy? Jenna Jameson? The local hooker on the street? I doubt it.

I can't believe how prudish some of these commenters are. She's an actress, and she did what she felt was right for the movie (The Brown Bunny that is). I agree that it's not a great movie, but that has little to do with the unsimulated sex act that everyone seems focused on. Furthermore, I'm sure people who don't even like that genre of film or who would not normally have even considered watching this movie ultimately decided to watch it just to see her sex scene with Vincent Gallo. If that makes her a prostitute, you all solicited her. Speaking of which, if this makes her a prostitute, then what exactly are porn stars? She is an excellent actress with a smokin' body, and while the Brown Bunny is something she'll have to live down, it shouldn't be because of the sex scene, it should be because it's simply not a good film.

#23- "Brown Bunny" came out long before Ebert's cancer battle, Gallo said at the time he hoped Ebert got colon cancer and Ebert replied that the tape of his colonoscopy was more entertaining than "Brown Bunny". Ebert gave the re-cut version of the film thumbs up, and they buried the hatchet.
#25- Well said, and it so happens she was dating Gallo at the time. If that makes her a prostitute, so is every woman who performs that act on their boyfriend.

Gallo was not her boyfriend at the time. That was some PR thing that came out afterwards as a semi damage control. They had dated, just not at the time.
27. If you notice, I mentioned porn stars in post 24.
It was not the act so much as it was how far she went to humiliate herself fo a guy with an ego, who hadn't gotten any in quite some time. If you look at IMDB trivia section for this film, he fired alot of actresses before this, probably because they wouldn't do THAT for a person they didn't like. I've seen the scene and it is bizarrely stupid, the way it is written and performed. Her own agent wanted nothing more to do with her after this film. There is a review below which gives fairly accurate review of the cut version. And that thumbs up, that was more like a truce by Ebert.
