Police Investigate Jett Travolta's Death

UPDATE: 11:50 ET. We've learned John Travolta has made arrangements with a funeral home in the Bahamas to ship Jett's body on Tuesday, presumably to Florida. The autopsy will not be performed until Monday morning.

Sources at the Freeport Grand Bahama Police Department tell TMZ the Serious Crimes Section is conducting an investigation into the death of Jett Travolta, the 16-year-old son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, but cops don't believe any crime was involved.

A detective tells us the investigation is being run out of the Central Detective Unit, Serious Crimes Section, because of the high profile nature of the death.

We're told it is still an active investigation and the time line may be important in determining cause of death ... specifically, Jett was last seen going to the bathroom on January 1st, yet his body was not discovered until 10 AM the next day.

It is unclear if Jett fell and then had a seizure -- or if a seizure caused him to fall.

122. #11 I agree with you totally. My daughter suffers with Epilepsy and she definitely could not go without medication.
My thoughts are with the family as I am certain anyone with a loving family and children would feel the same.

123. What a horrific thing for a parent to have happen. Unfortunately, one has to wonder why they chose their cult like religion over the well being of their child. If Jett was being treated for his seizures and autism, he'd probably still be here. Terrible parenting.

125. How uncompassionate some of you people are...let the family greive because they will never get over Jett leaving them so soon...who cares what their regelion is...as long as it is comforting, which is what you all should do...comfort not critize...it makes so ashamed to be on the same planet as some of you...to lose a child is horrible...this reminds me of poor Caylee Anthony case, when some of the people had no respect for the grandparents and said some hurtful things to them...wake up!

126. I'm absolutely disgusted by some of these comments...number four in particular. I'm not sure if you're just stupid, or downright heartless.

127. # 122 made the perfect statement ... most of us know nothing at all about this Kawasaki 'syndrome'.

Sciencetolgy makes my skin crawl and I still resent Oprah letting Tom Cruise have his day with his creepy message and I hope this sweet child's death will bring many to these creeps to their senses that God is a loving and prayful God.

Now, on to a medical site to learn more about the Kawasaki 'syndrome'.

128. Did anyone stop to consider that maybe John and Kelly had a night out?
Chances are, the caretaker had already said goodnight to Jett and assumed
he was headed to bed and something happened in the bathroom before
he actually was going to go to sleep. Maybe in the morning, was when everyone
was wondering why he hadn't come out of his room... Don't harp on the negative.
I don't even know what happened, but neither does anyone else.
Clebrity does not always equal the negative. Get a grip.

129. Whether one agrees with Scientology or not, they have a different view of medicine. They don't regard the brain as an organ, obviously, or the brain would be considered a "medical problem." They have some kind of disregard for psychiatry and medication for psychiatric problems. When did the brain stop being an organ like the heart or kidney?

131. reguardless of what he may or may not have had, reguardless of what faith his parents were of, no matter who checked on him or did not, what matters is this, a child is gone from this life, and two parents and a sibling are grieving. it doesnt matter what this child had, what he didnt have, who was supposed to take care of him or who last saw him, and it doesnt even matter that his family was famous, what matters is grief ppl. give the family time to grieve. its because of ppl like you im sure that kelly and john hid thier kids from media so crazy know it all fans would stay away. unfortunatly this only makes crazy know it all fans or ppl like those posting spiteful comments on here come out of the woodwork.

again to the family truly sorry for your loss.

132. Come on people, GIVE ME A BREAK! None of us knows for sure what Jett had.....There are many things that can and do present like autism. He was a 16 year old.......and maybe not as sick as we thought 16 year oldif he could shower unsupervised........If he said goodnight and he probably did.....It is normal not to see them until late morning. To say such hurtful things....You people should be ashamed. WE do not know if he was or was not on medication. You can assume things because of te Scientology all you want but just because you assume does not make it so. How would you like to lose a Son or Daughter and then have everyone think you did not love your child?

My thoughts and prayers are with the Travolta Family.

133. I am so happy the police will be investigating the time line of Jett's death is not right. He should have been checked on long before the next day. In Scientology, how they handle erratic behavior is locking a person in a room, I thought that perhaps if the boy was having a bad day that they used this technique and that is what sparked his seizure. If the hours are correct that he was seen the night before but not found until the next morning there is definitely a child neglect possibleand possible homicide case. My heart goes out to Jett and he is with God in a better place.

134. Kawasaki disease in an infant following immunisation with hepatitis B
vaccine.

Miron D, Fink D, Hashkes PJ.
HaEmek Medical Center, Afula, Technion Medical School, Haifa, Israel.
The known association between hepatitis B and vasculitis has been
reported in rare cases in adults after hepatitis B vaccination. We
here describe a 35-day-old infant who developed Kawasaki disease 1
day after receiving his second dose of hepatitis B vaccine. Although
extremely rare, this possible side effect should be noted and further
investigated.
