Jett Travolta Autopsy May Never Be Public

Jett TravoltaThe Ministry of Health in the Bahamas tells TMZ the autopsy findings in the death of John Travolta's son may never be public.

Dr. Hubert Minnis says a pathologist at Rand Memorial Hospital (where Jett Travolta was pronounced dead) is currently performing the autopsy, which should take several hours. Dr. Minnis says he personally decided, because of the high profile nature of the case, to bring in a second pathologist from Nassau, Dr. Karen Sands. Dr. Minnis made a point to us that Dr. Sands is an American.

The doctor says once the pathologists complete a preliminary report, it's forwarded on to a coroner. The coroner then forwards the completed report to the Travolta/Preston family. Dr. Minnis says only the family has authority to release the findings to the public. No word if that will happen.

16. And why should Jett's autopsy be made public? I don't see why the general public has a right to know what is essentially private, medical information. Just because John Travolta is a celebrity doesn't mean that the autopsy of his late son should be fodder for the media and public. Jett was a minor (child) when he died, and, as far as I know, he was not an actor/entertainer, so that takes him out of the public eye as far as I'm concerned. I for one, will applaud if the Travolta family decides to keep his autopsy private. I mean, I love me some celebrity gossip as much as the next person (that's why I'm on TMZ.com!), but there must be a limit, especially when it comes to the private lives of celeb's kids.

21. The real issue here is Travolta is gay, so this probably isn't even his son. Therefore, the public should be informed of the results. When it's not true family, what does it hurt to release this info?

Its nobodys business but the familys, peolpe that what to know are the sickos who keep saying the Travoltas murdered their child, im guessing that these people have a very low IQ, and have some mental health issues, what gives us the right ti pry in this familys personal business when they are grieving for a child? Those of you posting negative comments, i hope you experience loss so we can see how you feel when the boots on the other foot! You guys are sickos!!!!

23. It just amazes me how people jump on this website and jugde the celebraties while sitting at their computers, and from what I am guessing the majority do not have jobs. You sit at your computer and pass judgement on their parenting skills, their relationships, and whatever else you can find to pass judgement on. So what if Jett's parents made a parental choice and stopped his meds. Do you want someone coming into your home and passing judgement on YOU. If you experience a tragedy in your family, do you want a celeb. coming into your home and passing judgement on YOU? Telling you what THEY believe you should have done calling you crazy, a bad parent? Give them a break, just because they are rich and famous and you are not does not make you qualified to pass judgement.

24. Travoltas should be charged with child neglect ASAP.

Who lets a retarded boy with a history of seizures take a shower alone and not check on him for hours? Poor kid was laying there dead for hours.

He should have had a supervised bath...he would still be alive.

Funny how this all happened outside the USA...isnt it?

25. TMZ please be respectful that the parents don't want this released. I feel so awful for anyone who loses a child, I couldn't imagine what pain or regrets they are going through. Thank you for the update though.

26. John and Kelly get REAL personal about speaking out against the use of drugs for mental/medical conditions. They crossed the line of actors to activists all on their own, people have just as much right as they do to speak out of their beliefs. People have a right to know the autopsy results, a child may have died due to beliefs in scientology, people join that cult everyday, it might make them think twice and safe their life or someone they know.

RIP Jett, Christians do not belive you were degraded baby....

How would you like it if your family member died and you were grieving and no one cared about you all they wanted was the Details! Shame on all of you, Get a life and say a prayer that they feel comforted in such a horrible time in life! Which brings me to my Second Point I agree with #15.This whole Scientology crap is stupid and out of control and the more people that believe it are just creating problems for their own life!
