Click to the link on The Smoking Gun for details. Essentially, the seat on the lift was up, not down, and no one noticed before this guy and his son tried to load. As the lift takes off, the man fell thru - but his ski caught and his binding didn't release. I can only presume his pants 'hit a snag' since they are obviously not in place.

This story is all over the web and rumor has it that Leno has used it in his opening monologue. Such a riot for all of us - (I've been laughing all day at these pics) but can you imagine this man's 1) embarrassment, 2) possible frost bite in some very precarious places, and 3) total feeling of being scared to ever get on a ski lift again. Glad he's ok.... But someone at Vail is going to be writing a hefty check....

105. 58. You guys are awful. This is completely humiliating. And if this were a malfuntion of the ski lift, I hope he sues big time. Not only for his complete humiliation but for the lack of safety for his kid. Karma folks...you will be caught next with your pants down...
