Dr. Jan AdamsDr. Jan Adams, the non-board certified plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye West's mother the day before she died, has been sentenced to one year in jail after rolling over to a charge he drove super drunk last year.

Adams pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of DUI over an incident in the Bay Area last June where he was caught driving the wrong way on a freeway with a blood alcohol level of .20 -- more than twice the legal limit.

Adams will receive eight days credit toward his sentence from the time he served right after he was arrested.

I heard Arizona has very tough DUI laws, I mean Glenn Campbell did some time for driving drunk...can we please see Charles Barkley go to jail and be a tough guy big mouth looking for oral sex in there please? What about that Tent City we always see reports on? Can he go there? Is it in the same county? I bet there's guys that would line up to beat him up, extort him for protection money and possibly want to have sex with him....and dont tell me he's a tough basketball player from the NBA---elbows dont much matter when you're getting cornheld with a razor to your juglar veign and 4 Mexicans holding you down Charles.

Sir Charles must do time, otherwise it was racist Glenn Campbell did.

17. From what I remember, Nicole Ritchie drove wrong way on the highway as well. How much time did she get? 5 minutes? I have no idea if he's a good surgeon, but these are two separate issues. By the way, being board certified is not a requirement. You can be an excellent doctor and not be board certified.

21. Before I comment on this, let me say I am no fan of Kanye West as a person. That being said, this has to feel somewhat good that this Quack is getting some jail time, even if it wasn't for the death of his mom.

I do find it funny that he gets a year for a DUI though when most other celebs (black as well as white) only get probation!? Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Nicole Richie did worse yet didn't get nearly the jail time that this guy is going to get! Sorry unbelievable, but I do think there is some bias going on here.

Still, I can't feel sorry for this guy.

Yeah, anytime a black person does something wrong and they get punished for it, it's racism. Tell your story to someone else. People with a brain know better.If you're so drunk you don't know which way to drive on the road, then you deserve to be in jail. And it looks like he should have worked on his own face and left Kanye's moms alone. No punishement for what he did to her? Unbelievable.

24. fry is narrow but !He has disfiqured many of women with his supposefully Harvard education and being a plastic surgeon.
He needs to be held accountable for all of his action and lawsuits he does not even pay judgements on.

26. I would like to set the record straight about what happened to Donda West. She died because she chocked on her own vomit and she was too drugged to turn her head. The person that was supposed to be taking care of her wasn't there with her ( like he should have been) The person who should have been there was her nephew who is an RN. He said he would arrange for her care at home ( which he didn't) and that is why she didn't go to a post-op care facility like Jan suggested. Aside from the fact that Jan provided a service for Ms West, that she wanted him to perform, he had nothing to do with Donda West's death. This is confirmed by the Coroners report, the West family and several other Board Certified Doctors. Stop blaming Jan for this and take a look at the person who should have been taking care of Ms West
