48. It is so disheartening to read such mean-spirited comments! I guess racism is still alive and well in the US. Does saying nasty things about the new First Lady make you feel better? If so, then perhaps you have bigger problems than pretending that you are reliable fashion critics. Why does one assume that because a Black person graduated from college that they did so on the "country's dime". Perhaps it makes one feel a little better about one’s own shortcomings or lack of achievement. Black people were working and achieving long before affirmative action and will continue to do so when it is over. Why does no one ever talk about all of the affirmative action the everyone else benefited from during the 30s, 40s & 50s. Look up the New Deal, Levittown, Stuyvesant Town. Discrimination against Black people was essentially affirmative action for others. In spite of it all it never stopped our parents from telling us to work twice as hard and be prepared to get half as much. More importantly it did not stop them from being happy. Mrs. Obama was raised in that same spirit. As for her looks, she may not be the stereotypical version of a beauty queen but to many her image as loving wife, mother and daughter is the ultimate beauty. She has presented a new aesthetic to the world, a image of a Black woman that reminds of our family, not the degenerate images that are feed to the masses everyday. Those same images that you are projecting on to her with your mean comments. truly all of the comments about clothes and looks are superficial compared to what she has achieved. In spite of all the meanest she has legions of women and men, I am sure who are rooting for her. She will need it.

Clearly some of you have way too much time on your hands, and you need to get out more. Michelle Obama is the new First Lady, and she's got more class than most of you will ever hope to have in this lifetime (and clearly more education - and I won't even touch the affirmative action remarks. I do believe you're just jealous you're not as smart, and that's that.). Get over it and please get over yourselves. You sound like bitter, petty people who do nothing constructive with your time. Michelle displayed her hideous taste and rear end A SECOND TIME when she wore the bright red dress that was at least two sizes to small to the White House to meet with President Bush and his wife, the true First Lady Laura! The Bushes probably roared with laughter after the Obamas pranced out and were finally gone. They had to have the entire premises sprayed for roaches, I heard.

Michelle Obama looked just like a horse's ass in that red dress and she forgot the tail again. Does she braid it or just fluff it up when she and Obama play ponies?
