Travolta Memorial Small, Sans Stars

We made dozens of calls yesterday re: Jett Travolta's memorial service and it appears the stars will not be flocking to Ocala, Florida.

From all signs, the service will be relatively small and held at the home of John Travolta and Kelly Preston. So far there are no overt signs Tom Cruise will show. Oprah definitely won't because she's out of the country. Ditto Will Smith, who's in Berlin. Jenna Elfman's rep says she's "unsure" if Jenna will attend.

We've been at the local airports and so far no celebs have flown in for tomorrow's service.

On the other hand, the local flower shops say they've been flooded with orders.

From all appearances the memorial is a small, close-friends-and-family affair. So far the local sheriffs haven't been asked to provide security -- further proof it will be low-key.

We're at the airports today. To be continued ...

46. TMZ you make me sick!! I appreciate some of the coverage on this story because it is a horrible tragedy for any parent to go through. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the Travolta family. I COULD NOT CARE LESS if any CELEBRITIES are attending Jetts memorial service. This is about the family and the loss of Jett at such a young age. The fact that you are stalking the airports for celebrities is pathetic. Go somewhere else and look for them. I'm sure little stupid Lohan is hanging out somewhere waiting to be seen!! Leave this family famous as they are ALONE!! You should not be using this awful event as a way to spot celebs!!

I have no doubt the Travoltas are grieving the death of their son; however, given everything that has been published about his medical condition; i.e., frequent seizures, caretakers, close monitoring of him, etc., etc., his death could not have been a surprise to the Travoltas. What else did they expect? Ron Hubbard to come in and cure him? Get real people.

Sadly, the Scientology couple wouldn't even publicly admit that their son was afflicted with a neurological disorder, lest - according to the incontrovertible doctrine of Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard - he be labeled a "degraded being" that brought his affliction onto himself. Instead, the Travoltas had long blamed their son's disability on Kawasaki Syndrome-related "environmental toxins," specifically carpet cleaning chemicals. Now, imagine being trapped inside a mind-control cult that prohibits you from availing your child to the treatment available. No wonder Scientology has long been plagued by suicides, and wrongful deaths. One can only hope they can see a different light through this tragedy. Sad, very very sad.

59. I am more shocked that Jenn Elfman has a "rep!" Talk about a nut job. As far as TMZ covering this story, more power to them. Just wait until the Travolta's go on Oprah or GMA with their spin and try to save the public personas. I say shame on them, this death was preventable. I personally boycott any actor/actress/muscian that is involved with this dangerous cult.

60. Don't they reside in an "airport Community"? IE - Anyone they wanted to come in, couldn't they just have whomever they choose flown to his "own backyard" and avoid the paps that way?
