Travolta Mourners Bombard Wrong Funeral Home

The Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home in Ocala, Fla. is being overrun with cards, flowers and phone calls from tons of sympathetic Travolta fans. Problem is, the home isn't doing Jett's funeral.

Reps from Hiers-Baxley have no idea why people are calling them since they've never been asked to handle any of the arrangements. But funeral home reps say they've been flooded with so many deliveries, they've had reach out to John's publicity firm, Rogers and Cowen, for help. R&C has instructed the funeral home to forward only the cards to the firm's L.A. offices.

As for the loads of flowers, reps at the funeral home still aren't sure what to do with them.

61. ummmm, i'm sure there are hospitals, old folks homes, shelters, hard-working non-profit offices in ocala that would appreciate some beautiful flowers.

see, it's really not hard to figure out what to do with all those flowers: first you make a few calls to see who can accept them, then at the end of the day you gather up the flowers you received, put them in a car, and have someone drive them to those places.

Anyway, I've never gotten the impression that the Travoltas have claimed that Jett was still afflicted with Kawasaki syndrome, but that his later developmental problems stemmed from that diagnosis when he was 2. I don't think anyone has suggested that Jett died from the syndrome. All I've read is that John and Kelly both stated that Jett had been diagnosed with the illness and they had him treated at the hospital. I've read nothing to the effect that they continued to say it was never cured.

As for the debate over whether or not Scientologists recognize autism or if they would deny someone medication for a mental illness, all signs seem to point to that being true. Scientologists don't believe in psychiatry and think that mental illnesses can be cured with better living. However, they DO take medication for physical ailments. If Jett was epileptic, which he was, the Travoltas' belief in Scientology wouldn't have prevented them from giving him medication for that. Seizures are common in autistic children, but they are not inextricably linked with it. Even if the parents didn't recognize the autism, they certainly recognized that their son had epilepsy, which affects the brain but is NOT a psychological or mental illness.

Seen those recent photos of her where she looks like a zombie? Under Scientology one is given massive doses of vitamins and other "treatment" designed to purge the person of Body Thetans. Its the standard treatment for illness of the brain - like Autism. People keep wondering why the body was cremated within 72 hours? Well, think about it. The autopsy was done while a Scientology agent was present to do a little "arm twisting". After all people who dont "get with the program" might just meet Lord Xenu sooner rather than later.

65. Why don't they forward all the flowers to different hospitals? Maybe some of them are more appropriate for a funeral, but surely some could go to good use! Brighten someone's day a little............

66. What the funeral home can do: Donate flowers or stuffed bears to children's hospital. It would make their day and reduce the waste. Who agrees with me?
