Tom Cruise -- Otherwise Engaged

It's pretty clear ...Tom Cruise is not going to Jett Travolta's memorial in Florida today, because he is currently in NYC taping "The View."

Cruise -- who is really close to John Travolta and Kelly Preston -- is at the ABC studio right now, taping the episode that normally is broadcast live -- it will air tomorrow (the delay is because of Prez-elect Obama's speech).

Interestingly, Travolta did not attend Tom's star-studded 2006 wedding to Katie Holmes.

47. Tom Cruise is mentally ill. He is so wrapped up in himself it's pathetic. His attempts to make himself look sorrowful for the Travolta loss is pathetic. He is an actor. A person who makes money pretending. Scientology is a joke and anyone affiliated with this sham of a religion is inherently stupid.

48. Tom and John are NOT friends! This is just a spin control thing for Scientology, to show solidarity. I have been working with children on the autism spectrum for over 20 years and I AM TELLING YOU that boy had autism. If only he had been allowed proper early intervention, as well as the right seizure medication, there is no telling how much higher fuctioning he could have been.

What a shame!

49. because of the paparazzi and all the fuss all the time and the zoo surrounding Tom Cruise perhaps he decided it best not to attend, on the other hand, they may not be good friends. I am sure if they were he would have attended.

50. This some called religion reminds me of the People's Temple with the Jim Jones and then there was another scientific type of religion that ended the same way the People's Temple did death. There is only one being and that being has many names. I know one name is God others known as Lord some call Ali...bottom line Tom Cruise need to land back on earth in his brainwashed mined. From his history he think he is the controller. Interesting the film he just did he played Hitler....hhhmmmm make you wonder don't it???

51. To all of you who say that Scientology is responsible for this child's death please take the time to know what you are talking about. Scientology encourages all people prior to starting to take care of ALL medical issues. You can go to the Dr anytime needed and take any mediaction that will help you as long as it is not a "mind altering" drug. This country was founded on religious freedom let us all try to remember that. Do not take a sad event like this to voice your prejudice. My thoughts and prayers are with the Travolta's now. I can not imagine how horrible it is to bury your child.

52. @SARA (#24):

Nope. You're WRONG. Sure, we do have the right to choose RELIGIOUS BELIEFS; that I don't dispute. And personally, I don't care what religion a person practices, whether they're Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, etc. However, I have a problem with CULTS, like SCIENTOLOGY, where the core is based on a work of fiction, (And please, DO NOT mention the Bible, because that's actually a separate issue, which I would be happy to discuss elsewhere, and is not relevant here at this point.) and whose members, especially the highest "priests", regularly employ scare tactics, high-priced lawyers, brainwashing, and even murder, to get whatever they want, especially when it comes to power and money, and it's all for self-service, NEVER for charity like they publicly claim. (Again, DO NOT mention Christianity, as again, that's a separate issue for another time.) So, I believe it's my business when the so-called "religion" is designed solely for material gain, and to hurt anyone deemed an "enemy" of the "church."

Also, did you not read what I commented with the first time? Another favorite trick of Scientologists is to lie, lie, and lie some more, to cover up anything that they don't want the public to know. Even when truths are discovered, such as their aversion to modern medical science, including prescription drugs and psychology, which again I mentioned already; they continue to lie and usually claim those "falsehoods" were created by "enemies" of the "church," only to hurt them and to take focus away from their "charitable work." However, it was proven by Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley several times over, especially on Cruise's infamous "Today" appearance a few years ago. Therefore, the Travoltas, guaranteed, are lying about giving Jett any sort of medical treatment for any illness he had.

Scientologists have a technique, created by the founder L. Ron Hubbard himself, known as "auditing," which is basically just another way of saying brainwashing, that they use for every illness, from the common cold to cancer, because the belief is that this is how the aliens from Xenu cure their own, so it has to work here, too; and, it's also why they believe (wrongly) that modern medical science is "evil" and "wrong," because again, the aliens from Xenu apparently have told all Scientologists this at one point or another.

Does this not sound downright stupid and dangerous to you? If you have half a brain, I'd hope to God that it does. And believe me, this only the very tip of the iceberg on this. Do as much research as you can on Scientology, and you'll see where I'm coming from. And yeah, I HAVE looked at both sides of the issue, and I have spent countless hours in libraries, on the internet, and actually talking to current and former members of the cult, in an attempt to learn anything and everything I could about it, so please don't try to use the "I'm sure you're just biased, and looked into only one side of things" excuse. I implore you, and anyone else who reads this, and is interested and smart enough to want to look, to research the truth about Scientology, and why it's too dangerous to be kept around, and must be eradicated.

53. @ TEETEE (#51):

You, too, are WRONG, and apparently can't read. I, too, as I've already mentioned before, am all for religious freedom, but am against a CULT that consistently and evilly brainwashes and kills members for its own greed and material obsession.

Scientology DOES NOT encourage any outside medical assistance, as I've already mentioned in my previous 2 comments, because of their twisted and plain stupid beliefs that the aliens of Xenu think that our medical science is "evil" and "wrong," and that the only way to cure any- and everything that ails you is through "auditing," a.k.a. BRAINWASHING. So, as I have already typed TWICE here in this comments section, the CULT of Scientology is, indeed, responsible for the murder of Jett Travolta, due to their idiocy and lies, as well as material self-absorption. Trying to defend the actions of a dangerous and evil cult is just as idiotic, TEETEE, especially when you have no idea what you're talking about. Do some research into the truths about Scientology, so that way, you'll possibly understand better why I'm correct about all of this.

My prayers are with Jett, who had to live through 16 years of Hell before finally finding peace, but I condemn and damn every member of the evil cult of Scientology, and especially his own parents, who are supposed to love and care for him in any and every way possible but didn't; for causing his murder.

54. i hope this eventually leads to travolta leaving scientology--i think there he is a decent human being whose main mistake was believing in scientology. tom cruise? he appears hopeless--probably one of the most arrogant persons on the face of the earth.

55. Clearly, they are not friends. If Travolta didn't go to Tom's wedding and Tom's not attending Jett's funeral, they are not close. Just because they belong to the same cult, opps, right, "religion", doesn't mean they have to like each other.
I think Tom Cruise is seriously mental. I think he has zero personal identity and can only talk about external sensate experiences. Anytime he is asked to reflect on something, he can not go internal and do so. It's sad and quite distrubing. He's clearly completely brainwashed....

56. God bless the day Tom Cruise fades away. His appearance on the View was embarrasing, and looked like another one of his poor acting scenes. He lacks any kind of class or eloquence. John Travolta is one of the few "true stars" as we had years ago, along with an inner kindness and genuiness about him. How did we ever end up with all these plastic people in Hollywood. When Tom Cruise appears on TV, I turn the channel.
