Struggling to find the right words, Cruise addressed the emotional topic during a taping for tomorrow's episode of "The View," where he claimed his religion does not prohibit people from seeing a doctor and getting proper medication.

227. i'm so sick of reporters not asking the real questions..... wtf - they are ALL too scared to ask? the reporters build the "out" right into the question for god's sake. she just asked if scilons don't go to doctors...... of course they go to doctors - if they break an arm or have an infection. no one has ever claimed they don't go to doctors. the question is whether they treat autism and other psychological illnesses - which they don't. i'm getting so pissed by all of this. he even answered it saying they go to docs for physical issues - and she didn't ask if autism is considered a physical issue - which again - it's not. aaarrrrggghhhh. this is so frustrating.

228. Clearly louie, you still strike me as an ignoramus..I have much compassion but not for cult followers..don't even go to other religions..they do believe in some type of god and their god is not an alien from another galaxy..you must be a scientologist freak hiding behind all the friends you have who practice different religions..I am glad you have compassion for cult followers..says alot about you, you freak of nature. You sir are not capable of compassion for those who are deserving and that wouldn't be the alien lovers.

229. For the record..I am not jealous louie..but a small minded fool like you would infer that from my comment..I would rather have my child alive and if I had that much money I would be a responsible parent and get the medical assistance required..not have two idiot scientologist groupies..watching over my child..you are amazingly braindead.

234. Can anyone say Antipsychotropic medication ? In layman's term; Psych meds. DEPAKOT IS WIDLY USED AS AN ANTIPSYCOTROPIC ie mood stabilizer. Is it remotely possible that is why Jett was taken off it? JUST ASKIN! Why did this child lay dead for so long? JUST ASKIN! Tom Cruise is a idiot, hello, isn't that obvious? Travolta I'm willing to bet doesn't score to high on the intelligence meter either. Lets face it, these stupid people are dangerous because they think God is friggin ET and they ignore certain aspects of modern medical and psychological science. Katy get Suri and run for your life and sanity !

235. I can only speak from personal experience here, but I do have a seizure disorder, myoclonic seizures. I hope I spelled that right. Anyway, sometimes it's really hard to wonder if you're going to be accepted by others when you bring this up. So far, when I've read about Jett, I have not heard anyone making fun of his seizures. At least this is a sign most people on this planet are moving forward in this world.

I cannot say what happened to him, only that medication did not work with me either. Infact, it got to the point where my neurologist threw his hands up in the air and told me basically to come back when the seizures got to a point where I would have to visit the emergency room. I had a cardiologist telling me that I was on way too much medication as it was for my heart. The doctors I saw were always in conflict with one another if I was on too many meds or not enough. And lets not even go there about the horrible side effects. I think the year I began having them was probably the worst, darkest year of my life. Like so many other things, you have to stay on top of it or you will drown in the misinformation. I had to give so much of my adult life away, for my health. I cannot imagine a child trapped within his own body, like that. It sounds like hell.

I don't know what John and Kelly were thinking. When I first learned of Jett's death I was terribly angry because I have read enough of Scientology to know how most of them operate. Especially when you factor in so many people in this country , like me, do not have health insurance. And if they neglected him when they could afford every little thing Jett needed, then that would kill me. I do not agree with Scientology, nor do I agree with many religions stances on mental illness. They need to come out of the dark ages on this. It is not fair to the children, to the grown adults, who have to endure these horrible seizures in their many forms. Nor is it fair to the families out there of those who are ill. Do I think Jett was murdered? God no. Do I know to what extent they went to save their son beforehand, no, and I'm not sure any of us knows the concrete answer. The only thing I can comfort myself with is if there is a heaven, people like Jett are in it, and free of these things on earth that held them down.

And as for Mr. Cruise, I wish him the best of health, as I would wish on anyone else. I don't know what goes on in his mind, nor do I want to know. I'm pretty sure if I ever met him I don't know how I'd keep my cool.

236. I have known a Scientologist or two in my life and they are completely against the mental health industry. They feel as though the Psychiatrists and doctors are too quick to diagnose a problem and automatically prescribe a medication to heal that issue. There is a disorder for everything now. At this point, I do feel the medical community is a little too quick to throw pills at a problem rather than take the time to find the real issue. However, there are certain mental conditions that require meds to help people live normal lives. I remember going through a bad period long ago and this friend suggested I go to his center to get some guidance. At first I was curious to see what they had to say but once I found out it would cost me 300.00 per session to get “answers,” I realized what they were about. They like most cults or religions, have an agenda. Anyway, all of this is a prime example of why I have chosen not to affiliate myself with any religion. All of them have rules and expectations. There are many branches of Christianity that also preach no medical treatment of any kind because they believe it goes against God to seek help to keep you alive. If God chooses to make you sick and you die, then it was his will. I think too many people get caught up in the rules and rituals from their religions and miss the point. I think the point is to live your life, have compassion for those that are suffering and help humanity when you can. For me, thinking there is some powerful being hanging out some place making bad things happen to good people to test their loyalty to him is just as absurd as a spaceship waiting to take me to a planet or whatever when I die. People tend to believe what makes them comfortable. Most in this country believe woman came from a man’s rib or whatever. How is that any less out there than us coming from aliens or some imaginary planet? There is definitely a spiritual or energy force out there and most can agree they have felt it a time or two in their lives. I think a lot of people cling to a religion out of our natural fear of death. The thought is a little easier to handle when you believe great things are waiting for you after you die. I feel the reason why a lot of people run to things like Scientology or the thousands of other cults out there is because of the guilt Christianity throws at you for messing up. I don’t know how many times I was told growing up if I did something “bad” I might go to hell. All of us are capable of great good and great evils. It’s just up to each individual to decide which path they want to walk. Some people just get tired of feeling like they can’t live up to the expectations so they seek something else that says it’s okay to live the way they are living. The fact of the matter is none of us know which way is true and which is false. We have to make our choices and be okay with the consequences if in the end, there are some.

237. ENOUGH!!!!! A child is gone. He has seizuires. As a parent of a child who has seizures I'm here to tell you there is no way to completely control them. They make them managable but they never, every go away. Walk a mile in their shoes and see how you like it. Leave the Travolta's along and find something better to do than tear apart the interview Tom did with the View.

238. Just got home from a delayed Christmas vacation and now I'm trying to catch up with TMZ. And I gotta tell ya that this has been a pretty interesting group of posters. Hope, I'll start out with you cause you're the most obvious. Catching up on this section I've noticed that you post lots of messages and I started noticing that you're just a bully. So whenever I saw your name on a post I'd pass over it. If someone dares to disagree with you you accuse them of being stupid, narrow minded, a scientologist, or waiting for the alien ship and on and on and on. You're in constant attack mode and that gets really old, especially when there's so many others here who really are pretty interesting in their opinions. So just to let you know that when you decide to attack my post it really won't matter to me since when I see your name I don't bother to read any further. There was one eigth grade Christian child who had a really good post, I was glad to see some real thoughts rather than just attack. BB had some interesting things to say. I agreed with some and disagreed with some but found them all pretty good reading. But the one I found the most interesting is Susan. Susan evidently has a child with medical problems and I'm guessing they're either mental or emotional. I'm sure it is upsetting to know that scientology is against the types of help that are available to her child. What does it matter if they don't recognize it. Susan has obviously sought help for her child and is following her child's treatment like any good mother should and hopefully would. Her resentment is that celebrities have a venue to spout their views and as she put it she can only come here. That's bulls**t. Make your own venue Susan. It may not be national but why not start educating people in whatever area you can. My personal cause is breast cancer since I'm an 18 year survivor. I'm in a small town of about 3500 people but it's amazing what you can do by starting out small. In the past 15 years the group I started has helped raise a little more than $50,000. I know that's not enough to find a cure for cancer but it might be enough to allow for just one more test towards a cure. So rather than resent the fact that Cruise and Travolta can go on tv and share their beliefs why not start in your own area and educate as many as you can. It's obviously something you're passionate about so just get off your computer and go out and kick some butt.

240. Tom forgot his tirade against Brooke Shields for seeking out meds?!?!?! No, poor Jett did not get treated for his seizures. He deserved better. I think that Tom and John are good people, stuck in a bad cult.
