Patrick Swayze Hospitalized

Patrick Swayze has checked himself into the hospital after he came down with pneumonia.

Swayze was supposed to take part in a presentation for his show, "The Beast" -- but when he couldn't make it, the president of the A&E network informed reporters about the situation, at Patrick's request.

"He asked us specifically to go forward with today's panel. We wish him the very best with his recovery."

Swayze revealed last year that he is battling pancreatic cancer.

34. this maybe it for him. my dad lasted six months with that cancer. and in the end it was the infections, blood clots, sickness etc that took him out. he had massive infection, pneumonia and a blood clot in his leg when he passed. his lower body was horribly swollen from the clots.
he went into the hospital with pneumonia and it turned massive when he didnt respond to the medicines to fight the pneumonia. he was stage four 4 and was doing really well with his chemo. the cancer didnt shrink but did not get any larger.
so i wish patrick all the best but i dont have much hope for him.
and to all the people saying he needs to stop smoking, STOP! Let the man smoke and enjoy his last days! It's a comfort if nothing else. Stopping smoking now will not save him.

35. This poor, poor family. What can I say but God be with you and your loved ones. I do feel it was rather cruel of Barbara Walters to ask his wife how she's going to go on without him. It is so difficult to go on without a loved one, there was really no need to ask something like that. I pray she is able to live without him if and when it comes to it. Good luck Patrick.

37. His body and his immune system are weakened.

I would insist on living out my days at home instead of having the agony prolonged in a hosptal bed.

Just get me a pump for the pain and send me home.

38. As any cancer survivor, he has contracted the most aggressive bleak kind. With antibiotics and constant hydration he can pull through this. I had an aggressive cancer and went through one full year of chemo (9 months/24hr per day and the rest in the hospital once a week). Everyone told me I was to die. I just passed my ten year anniversary. So positive thoughts!
Lets see what he can do and he has my full respect!

39. Oh my, I just watched him the other night on ABC, I am sad to hear this news today. He is a very brave man and his wife is even braver. May the angels be by your side while you are in the hospital and I hope you have a fast recovery. I will pray for you tonight and your family and many more nights to come. Please get well soon, you have a few more years left:)

40. Sorry to say this ladies and gentlemen, Patrick is on his way out. It may be only days now,and he knows it. That interview with Barbara Walters was his way of saying goodbye. He looked bad, thin, drawn, and obviously resigned to what he knows is happening NOW not later. He knows his time is up. Please dont shoot the messenger folks.......death is normal, and a part of the journey. Wanda

42. ...a agree that he should do whatever it is that is a comfort at this time, and if that means smoking, so be it. i quit seven years ago, but if they diagnose me tomorrow, well, you never know. there but for the grace goes everyone of us. hope we see him rally, but i wouldn't count on it, he looked pretty frail in the interview...good luck to him...

43. I really hate that. I hope he makes it through this but the reality is that pancreatic cancer is pretty much a death sentence. I had to accept that face after my grandfather and two aunts went through that. He's a fighter and he deserve to recover.
