173. FWIW.........tax dollars do NOT pay for the President's private quarters. It is private donations. The STATE & PUBLIC areas are paid for with a combo of tax dollars & donations. As to the new decorator............BORING.......jmho

174. For those of you that are complaining about our troops not having the body Armour they needed, well you need to be looking George W. Bush in the face and b*t*hing to HIM about it. He sent OUR MEN and WOMEN into combat in a country that DID NOT do a damn thing to us on 9/11, and he sent them KNOWING they were not COMBAT READY with the appropriate Armour. Bush didn't CARE! Die Baby Die! Our DEAD mean NOTHING to that EVIL piece of trash, and his sidekick, DarthVader Cheney!

How about little old Laura Bush spending $550,000 on CHINA that the White House DID NOT NEED two weeks before the old bi*ch left the White House? The Clinton's had replaced the china, and the Bush's hardly used it. It was a WASTE of OUR MONEY! Laura Bush is a stupid bi*ch!

How about Bush refusing the Obama's request to stay at Blair House while waiting for the Inauguration? Bush LIES and says the residence is occupied then forces some FORMER member of the Australian government to come to America. A FORMER member, I say! So the Obama's had to stay at a Hotel and the Secret Service had to rent the ENTIRE floor for security which COST US OVER $500,000!

EVERY soon- to- be-inaugurated President has stayed at Blair House... EVERY ONE that wished to HAD THE RIGHT to stay there so the Secret Service could keep them SAFE. Damn those freaking Bush's!!! Criminals, that is all they are!

So, as a last parting shot the Bush's cost US over a MILLION BUCKS just because they are stupid low class suckers!

The Obama's have EVERY RIGHT to change the RESIDENCE QUARTERS to make themselves feel at home. We are not talking about the entire White House.....just the RESIDENCE QUARTERS!

Who the hell would want to live in any rooms that Laura Bush decorated? I hope they both rot in hell for all the lives they have cost the United States! Burn baby burn Bush....you will get what is coming to you some day....at judgement day what will be YOUR excuse?

179. . I am not impressed with his style and his selections of mixing antiques and modern items. Seems that he has missed the boat. Example, the dinning room table with the leather chairs on the front page of this website looks wonderful but, the light fixture over the table does not go with what is in the room and should be put in a kitchen over an island. Yes, you can mix the two togather but, they should blend togather like colors in a painting. His work does not show that. Candice Olsen (and there are a lot of other good designers out there that would give their services for free just to have the White House on their resume) could and would do a much better job and for a lot less money. With people losing their jobs and doing without, I think that the Obama family should limit what they do as I am sure that the White House rooms are in good shape to begin with and from what I saw of Laura Bushes decoration taste, it is clean cut and nice. I know that the new President gets a decorating allowance but, with things being the way that they are, shouldn't they cut back and spend less?
