61. In regards to 50/50, your rambling or reasoning was made no sense. If you cannot understand that people are often reference by their ancestors orign, than it useless to discuss the issue. Hopefully, you are aware that America is melting pot, consisting of various cultures and nationalities. And, again people often identify themselves with their place of birth or their parents'. Obama has made it known the race of both of his parents. When Obama applied for Harvard, the application choice for race was black or white. Obama chose not to make to make a distinction. Due to his skin color and features, many in society will always see him as black. I understand, and certainly he does, that he is bi-racial. However, Obama admitting to be bi-racial is not what will ease racial tension in this country. Do you honestly think that if Obama starts saying I am bi-racial, that w/ stop the hateful and racist remarks of many of the commentors on this site? Cultural sensitivity will only be established when people began to appreciate and respect the differences of other cultures, and nationalities.

64. 12. COME ON, girls in private school, a gas guzzling ride, Lobster Dinner, mother in law moving in, and NOW a tax-payer- paid Hollywood decorator!! Our tab keeps growing doesn't it? Why do the living quarters NEED to be redecorated anyway? Come on, I am sure they can work with what they have, America simply cannot afford to pay someone to decorate the Obama's living quaters, and we shouldn't have to!

Hey Moron! The Whitehouse houses a lot of furniture from different periods and each new admin. can choose from the already in place inventory to decorate. No one is tapping into your tax money to do this...every administration does this when the old moves out and the new moves in. Do a little research instead of bitching about everything..and you might learn something.

So what?? Every other President was allowed these funds too! The White House is America's showplace. It should get a facelift every so often.

Regarding the girls going to private school....DUH!!! Do you really think they could just go down to the nearest public school and register?? Maybe they could catch the bus out in front of their house!?! They MUST be in private school for their own good!! They can be better protected in a private setting!!

To be perfectly fair, there is a not for profit group that is paying for the china that the Bush' picked out. It does not come out of taxpayer $. It is a tradition that all 2 term Presidents do this for posterity.
