R.I.P.
"Lost in Space" Actor Has Died

Bob May -- who played The Robot in "Lost in Space" -- died early this morning at the Lancaster Community Hospital in California.

A rep for Bob said he was taken to the hospital on Friday, and died at around 3 AM this morning of congestive heart failure.

Back in November, Bob had a stroke soon after a fire consumed his California home.

Patricia Arthur, May's long time friend and agent, "asks all his fans to take a moment of silence as one of Science Fiction's greatest has passed. Family and friends will miss him dearly."

Bob was 69.

16. Man, show some respect! This man ment something to people, fans,
friends and family. Why don't you practice what you parents. and/or
Grandparents taught you, "If you don't have anything nice to say,
don't say anything at all. You don't need to get on this page and
say, "Who?" or the REALLY stupid comments on here calling
his agent "lame" and continue on to make ridiculous statements, and
my three cents, pretending to be God, I mean, really? I just hope his
fans, friends and family are not put in any more pain by by reading
such childish ramblings by insensitive people. A man died today, show
some respect!
May he rest in peace. My condolences to his family.

19. To understand with an inconic actor Bob May way, simply take a look at http://www.robot-b9.com/history.html. Bob was beloved by his fans and was always eager to meet them at the conventions. Pat and I were the last to see him before the ambulance took him away the other night at his daughters home. To the end, Bob was himself, optimistic and upbeat. The jokes never ended with Bob. HIs humor, laughter and wit will be missed. From Elvis to Lewis, he stood with the best Hollywood had to offer. If you did not know who Bob May was, take the time to see his history. He was a great man.....

22. You would think that with this fire and whatnot that maybe it was time for Will Robinson to save him. It would be ironic and funny if he did.

23. giancarlo forti,
DO NOT tell me to "cool my jets" so they are all great in their OWN way. What, you don't think there can be more than one? I am realistic, why don't you show some respect? I am so angry when someone dies and it is reported here and idiots think it is a free for all. These are people with family. This man worked hard at his job, just like anyone else. They did not have the technology back then that there is now. Everyone back then thought this was huge, a talking robot. It was a different time and era. Regardless, the man deserves some respect.
He passes away and people want to trash his accomplishments, and make fun of him.
That's just wrong.

28. After reading the cruel and insensitive comments by a few people who felt it necessary to embarrass themselves and reveal their total lack of class, I wanted to offer my sincere condolences and prayers to Bob May's family, and tell them I'm sorry they have to suffer the fools of this world along with the heartache of losing such a good man. (By the way Mr. Forti, it's JULES Verne, not Julius). His agent and his devoted fans considered him one of the Sci Fi greats and that can never be diminished by the words of unkind bloggers.
RIP Bob

29. Rest in Peace. You gave many kids of the sixties joy at watching you shout "Danger! Danger! Will Robinson!" each week on television. So sorry for all the suffering from the fire... RIP.

30. Rick and MDCRAB:

Time for you to go to bed now. You are obviously too young for this thread. Come back when you grow a personality, culture, and respect for the deceased.
