"Sully" Gets the Bird in D.C.

According to Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger -- revenge tastes like chicken.

TMZ has learned the most famous pilot on the planet made his first public appearance in D.C. last night, at a low-key dinner with some members of his heroic flight crew and several passengers from Flight 1549. The name of the restaurant -- Hudson... Seriously.

Sully was a rockstar, shaking hands with a steady flow of admirers in the restaurant -- which by the way, is great.

Now the best part: As if to take revenge on the birds that brought down his jet, Sully dined on buttermilk fried chicken.

31. Sully is a hero, what a real hero is. What our children should aspire to be, a decent person, who does the right thing.
As for So Cal Steeler, I actually like your team, only because of your uniforms though. Don't know much about sports, but
I did visit Pittsburgh twice, really cool city. The skyline is unbelievable, I think got voted prettiest skyline in the U.S. a few
times. People were real cool, too. Didn't vote for Barack, but willing to give him a chance, better get moving though, nothing different in a year, then, "meet the new boss, same as the old boss". Goodnight all.

32. re #5 - Stacy:

The co-pilot, Jeff ?, was flying the plane during take off. When the incident occured and it was realized what had happened to the engines, he handed control over to 'Sully' who has more flying experience. Jeff stated this himself in an interview.

As for the flock of geese - I understand that there were radars that picked up the flock, however, the air traffic controller working with this plane did not have the flock on his radar.

Before anyone states anything about my comment being full of excuses....google it first.

34. Now this guy is a true hero who didn't crack under pressure. I'd rather shake his hand than Obama's.

35. I hate how the media gets his name wrong. They call him Chelsea. His name is pronounced Ches-lee.

36. Mr. "Sully" is a hero! May we all be as lucky to have him as our pilot in an event like that.

(I bet he and Mrs. Sully dance better than Mr/Mrs. O).

Bless you Mr. Sully.

40. Of course Sully did a great job landing in the river. But both pilots should have been on the lookout for birds. Sully was looking at maps.

41. He should have at least put on a jacket and a tie for this occasion and not look like a slob...goes for the two fruit on his flanks

BUT DON'T GET ME WRONG HE DOES DESERVE A MAJOR CASH BONUS FROM U.S. AIRWAYS BASED ON WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE PAID OUT IN CIVIL LAWSUITS FOR ALL THE DEAD PASSENGERS!!
