"Sully" Gets the Bird in D.C.

According to Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger -- revenge tastes like chicken.

TMZ has learned the most famous pilot on the planet made his first public appearance in D.C. last night, at a low-key dinner with some members of his heroic flight crew and several passengers from Flight 1549. The name of the restaurant -- Hudson... Seriously.

Sully was a rockstar, shaking hands with a steady flow of admirers in the restaurant -- which by the way, is great.

Now the best part: As if to take revenge on the birds that brought down his jet, Sully dined on buttermilk fried chicken.

File this under "People Who Nit Pick Just To Be Negative". Who else would look at someone AT THE NEXT TABLE to critique? Only someone who is, I am sure, perfect in every way.

72. This surely is a highlight to his career. What a phenomenal job. How can I book a flight and know that Sully is at the helm? ;)

73. Captain Sullenberger can wear a polar bear suit to dinner for all I care. Nothing will take away the fact he saved 155 lives using all the skills and knowlege of near 20,000 hours at the controls. He's a modest man but his inner courage shines through for all to see. America needs heroes and boy, did we get one. Too bad it's always a full-bird colonel at the controls of Air Force One. Otherwise Barack should hire Sully in a micro-second.

74. As a Pilot, I think that there are a lot of things to be learned from senior captains like Sully. My respects and admiration.

75. Al Haynes Capt. of United flight 232 is actually probably the best pilot and most famous pilot and the pilot that changed flight training in the US aviation industry to allow for better survival. I'll bet Sullenberger while being a hero and an excellent pilot would defer to the skills of the entire crew of United flight 232 and the leadership of Capt Haynes.
