Britney Gets Sloppy Seconds
One of the "amateur" contestants on this season's "American Idol" not only has recorded a song for a major movie soundtrack -- but also the damn thing was just covered by Britney Spears.

17. Joanna you made Britney's version of the song sound horrible. Joanna needs to select another song next time and not a Britney tune. Once people hear Joanna there is no way Britney can make it sound correct.

18. One thing I seriously doubt you will EVER see: Britney on a stage by herself with a straight, unprocessed microphone, actually singing a song live. She can't do it. Period. She knows it and her management knows it. She would be laughed (or booed) off the stage. With all of the effects, pitch correction and digital enhancements they use on Britney's recordings, they could make Steve Urkel sound like Luciano Pavarotti.

19. I've heard both versions and think that they're both good. Artists cover songs all of the time. Nothing new here.

20. My 7 year old daughter caught this before you guys did. She freaked out when she heard Britney's song. She said "Mom, this song is on the Bratz movie." You guys are slow!

25. I had no idea this song was a cover! This is actually my favorite song on britneys album, not really because of her voice (lets be honest, even tho I am a brit fan, I know she cant sing), but because the lyrics are wonderful! Damn, now I gotta go download the real version...

26. Joanna also has a song on the Legally Blonde soundtrack called Watch Me Shine. The girl is pretty talented. Almost ALL of last year's AI top 10 had record deals at one time or another. It doesn't mean they were famous or hit it big and this is like a comeback opportunity... a record deal just lets you make a record. Whether or not it gets distribution is something else.
AI has never had any "undiscovered" talent on the show. Every winner has had some kind of performance experience, which is what made them WINNERS. You want undiscovered "talent" - go buy Nikki McKibbin's record... oh wait, you can't - she's in the Sober House now...

27. Number 15 you've got it backward. Joanna sang the song first. It's not Britney's song. Her people probably don't even know it was previously released. Britney doesn't write any of her music. She is not a musician. She is, at best, a showman with marginal singing skills that are enhanced in a studio. Like most of today's pop acts she uses video, lights, pyrotechnics, and dancers to draw away attention from the fact that she is not really very good.

30. I thought the Joanna Pacitti track was the best one. I had never heard her voice before but thought it was really beautiful. I think the lyrics are more pertinent to Britney's life
