Almost immediately, passengers can be seen jumping from the aircraft into the water and onto the plane's wings -- the first rescue boat showed up three minutes later.

Thanks to the "heroic" maneuvering of Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, all 155 people aboard survived the crash.

31. I'm glad you "journalists" find him "heroic". That's "great" reporting.

32. I still get goosbumps just watching this. What an incredible landing and a miracle there were no casualties.

33. Kudos to all the crew on this flight...well done!

And for heaven's sake, please stop calling this a "crash"! It was a *water landing*.

If I'm not mistaken, pilots are trained to do water landings; this doesn't make Sully's work here any less extraordinary or impressive, but I hesitate to call this a "miracle". The man is excellent at his profession.

Here's a shout-out to the flight attendants...you're awesome! The pilot may have handled the machine, but you had to handle the crowd, which is often a tougher (and definitely more thankless) job. You deserve a trip to the Bahamas, too!

34. Well Brrrr you are correct that pilot's train constantly for water landings but what makes this one different is the fact the pilot kept the nose of the plane up at "landing" as long as possible to keep those wings from hitting the water too quickely and snapping off! AND with a plane full of passengers! In training there is no one and no real stress!

35. I don't feel that its that big of a deal, but that crash was something that shouldn't be taken lightly.
