33. Put your money where your mouth is. Boycott the Bahamas. That's all Bahamians want from Americans is our money. Otherwise they hate us. The Bahamas are some of the most productive shipping pathways for dugs and the government profits by it. They are also heavily involved in human trafficking from Haiti, etc. Hopelessly corrupt from the top leaders to the little kids that pick your pocket near the cruise lines.

34. #32 - The Bahamas government is fully involved with working with the DEA to intercept drug shipments, which are just routing from S.America through the islands to the market for them in the USA. The Bahamas cannot be blamed for being located between the source and the end user. There is no human traffic from Haiti. Due to the appalling living conditions in Haiti, thousands have taken the dangerous option of trying to reach either the Bahamas or the US in search of a better life. Those apprehended are returned to Haiti. Many are employed (illegally) as gardeners and maids. All nations have some citizens who are corrupt. The US has had a huge share of these over the years. BUT you do not judge the whole country by a few rotten nationals.
The episode with the Travoltas is dreadful, for them and the country but it is being dealt with by the police and they should be judged after the investigation is over and not before.
BTW:I had my purse stolen in Miami and my rental car broken into. Also BTW: I am not Bahamian, just an expat who loves the Bahamas and its people.

39. This news will surely hurt Bahamian tourism, bad PR for an already hurting country. I guess "you get what you deserve." With the current news in regard to the Travolta's, a country that has seen a rise in crime, drugs, murders, robberies. To think of all the money the Travolta's have spent on GB over the years and to have someone they trusted do this to them is really very sad. Hopefully, the Travolta's will find another place to go where they are appreciated.

decided to turn it around on them and set them up with some help from

they were set-up and then rail-roaded. travolta is hiding something

weel may have refused to be payed off, so he engineered it to look
liike they came to him and tried to extort and now he is making them

42. I am proud of my country, in less than 3 days after the story broke the three people involved were taken into custody. Obie was brought in for questioning and Pleasant was arrested and charged as was Lightbourn. As it is now everything is going incredibly fast and in accordance with good jurisprudence, this is a good reaction by my country, despite what some want to say. Ms. Bridgewater is also an ex minister like Obie so for these two to be arrested considering their political clout says we the Bahamas are taking this very seriously and whoever is involved will be held to pay for their crime. Considering the past 8 years in the US, no American should open their mouths to say anything against the Bahamas on this. We are doing what we are supposed to do, even more. When you guys have bush and his henchmen behind bars feel free to comment on how you feel the Bahamas should handle this. Until that day though, anything said about how bad it is in the Bahamas is pure hypocritical nonsense. Go Bahamas!!!!! I am proud of you!!!!

I have enjoy John's movies for a long time but when I see some of his interviews and talks on how he likes to enjoy the good things and other little items I can't recall right now but that had made him looked kind of full of himself type of guy had made me feel sad and wanting to say OH yes John! like would'nt all of us like to have your kind of life style. However I have no doubt that John and Kelly are excellent parents, that love their children and like such had chosen to give them the religious knowledge that they best trust and believe in just like all of us do with our family. I'm very sorry for their loss and wish the best for their future. I hope this is all a misunderstanding and that everything can be solve for the best of everyone.
