He's good enough, and he's smart enough ... but did John Mayer carefully check his junky VCR before tossing it out of his NY apt. last week? We're definitely not sayin' that's where this "self-help" video came from, but....

Who knew John was so into daily affirmations? Jen probably did, because Mayer definitely took a shot at her ex-hubby's new movie.

By the way, the video was shot inside Mayer's cool NY digs.

38. Mayer thinks he's funny and yes, the tape is a spoof but come on - he is so obviously full of himself and thinks he's all that - which he is not. He's done stuff for TMZ before so this wasn't a "found" tape - it was a contrved tape, in every sense of the word. Jen - you can do sooooooooooooooo much better and everyone knows he's a serial dater so what's the attraction. Whatever it is, I hope you don't get burned by him AGAIN. And as far as slamming Pitt's new film - isn't that "uncool", Jen? After aff, Brad has nothing but good things to say about you - shouldn't your singer (who hasn't put anything out for a while - oh wait he has that new variety show coming on - sounds more like a lounge singer now) show the same decorum?
