Jessica Alba Was Right ... We Were Wrong

Jessica Alba Jessica Alba is fuming at TMZ for calling her dumb when she called Sweden a "neutral" country last week ... even though it currently has troops in Afghanistan.

She is absolutely correct. Sweden was a neutral country ... 60 years ago.

Even though she was engaged in a debate about the current political situation in America when she advised a reporter to "Be Sweden ... be neutral" -- Alba is swinging back at critics, like TMZ, on her blog saying, "It's so sad to me that you think the only neutral country during WWII was Switzerland."

She is absolutely correct -- when the Nazis were waging war on anyone who opposed Hitler's evil rule, Sweden remained neutral and stayed out of the war. After the war, Winston Churchill referred to Sweden as "that small, coward country."

We apologize for not considering the political climate of the world in 1942 when we suggested she may have meant, "Be Switzerland" -- a country that is currently neutral.

Our sincerest apologies.

48. You're still wrong - as far as I know is Sweden like Switzerland (where I am living and was born) an armed neutral country (right english term?) - which means: We have an army and we defend ourselves when we are under fire.

Also Switzerland has Peace Troops (right word?) in other countries.

I like gossip very much but sometimes you are SOOO over the moon ;-)

50. Jessica is obviously going to the Tom Cruise school of media relations (attack the media and anyone else who was responsible for your fame, and act as a "know it all" -- badly). She'll be lucky to have ANY fans left at this rate. After all, besides that frolick on the beach in her teeny yellow bikini, what has she done that was worthwhile in the last 5 years (or ever?) Come on, sweet cheeks: time to drop your laundry for Playboy. It's the only chance you have to redeem your fast fading celebrity. Photoshop can rub out those nasty baby mama stretch marks.

53. Contrary to popular myth, Switzerland was not neutral during WWII. Repeatedly making a claim does not make truth, it makes propaganda. Actually many (not all) Swiss colluded with Nazi Germany and violated human rights mostly of Jews, and stole from Jews, property which was hoarded in Swiss accounts and never returned.

Why don't actors just keep their mouths shut. They are mostly ignorant. And that goes for male actors as well (Will Smith's irresponsible Hitler comment), to all you women bashers trashing her for her gender.

57. Sweden was not truly neutral. They allowed the Nazi's to march into and out of their country. Not neutral. The Swiss actually had clashes with Axis over border issues. It pisses me off that Sweden gets some sort of pass as a progressive country when Norway, its neighbor, actually fought the Germans and thwarted the processing of heavy water for the Nazi nuclear program. Truly noble! And on a final note, I do not believe that WWII was the time to be neutral. Those evil bastards needed to be stopped, period.
