Gary Collins Busted for DUI -- Again

Gary CollinsWe've learned Gary Collins -- the former Miss America host and talk show host, has been arrested yet again for DUI.

Law enforcement tells TMZ Collins was busted at 9:16 last night by the CHP just south of Montecito, on suspicion of DUI. Law enforcement sources tell us Collins refused a field sobriety test but was subsequently given a blood alcohol test.

Collins -- former host of "Hour Magazine" and "The Home Show" -- was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail where he was booked and released.

A year ago Collins pled no contest to DUI in an accident that resulted in the death of the other driver. Collins was not prosecuted for manslaughter, in part because the other driver caused the crash by making an illegal left. Collins is currently on 4 years probation. If he was driving drunk again, he'll almost certainly go to jail.

Back in 2002, Collins was found not guilty of DUI in Mississippi.

31. Horrible! Waiting for him to kill someone? Does he have one of those things where the car won't start if he's drunk?
You take your life in your hands driving in LA.

32. Alcoholism and drunk driving go hand-in-hand, and neither should be ignored by cops or the public, as it is a serious problem that causes harm and death to innocent people. Anyone even suspected of driving under the influence should be stopped on the road. The fact is, drunk drivers ARE criminals against society. They take on that burden when they stupidly get behind the wheel.

A car is a weapon, just like a gun. It is especially dangerous when it is operated by a drunk. I hope he gets help, but also face his responsibility to society and serve some jail time too. Once he's sober for 1 year, then he should be eligible to reapply for his driver's license. In the meantime, GET HIM OFF THE PUBLIC ROAD!

36. Hey #19,

You're a pharmacist alright. You probably mix drugs in your meth - van.

Funny, I didn't direct my last post to you, but you knew. You just want to pick fights. Well, ya know what? I'm not wasting my time on a wannabe cheerleader.

From your posts, we all know you're an underage kid that never had any friends. Get a life.

This is my last response to you, LOSER!

37. As a man, I must say that I would never point the finger to a spouse or another person and BLAME THEM for my stupidity. Any man that does that needs to take a serious look at himself in the mirror and admit to some of his limitations. Then, he needs to own up to his responsibilities in the relationship and work things out, or call it quits and move on.

39. Jean Summers, so why doesn't your signature say "Jean Summers--with a happy family" rather than Jean Summers--still clinging to high school years and caring most about her looks?

LOL Nice try there, Jeannie. Keep popping those pills, dear.

42. I do not want to look deep into this topic. But clearly he needs to go to jail. Not the first time, someone has already died. It is a ugly situation.

43. Drunk drivers slaughter innocent people, innocent families. Throw him in jail. I have No sympathy for a drunk driver.
My family was SLAUGHTERED BY A DRUNK DRIVER. Our only child was buried on his 5th birthday. Drink all you want...DON'T DRIVE.

44. Me...what sad childish logic you have.

Just because someone trys to stay attractive doesn't mean she is a bad person...

Did a cheerleader reject you at some point?

You are as sad and pathetic as you were as a teen....

45. Ms. Summers may have a different sort of priorities than most adults, but she does seem stuck in high school antics of name-calling and being bratty in her comments. Age is not a reflection on someone's maturity level. Neither is having a family or owning a business.
