Sorry, but am I the only one who believes that it is just as irresponsible for a person to have kids after age 40 as it is to have them at 14? Makes sense to me, after 40 one has a much higher risk for EVERYTHING to go wrong. Cancer, heart attack, being to old to care, not young enough for those teen fights, then the parent just gives in because there is no fight left in them.
The spouse getting sick, on and on and on..... wrong , just wrong. Don't give me the living longer stuff either. Hardly ever works that way.
