Tommy Lee and pilot David Martz -- who got pulled over mid-air Sunday for erratic flying -- took off from Van Nuys Airport yesterday afternoon.

The two were forced to ground the helicopter over the weekend after it flew under and too close to an LAPD copter, David had to take a blood alcohol test -- after cops found him on the ground drinking Grey Goose and lemonade.

3. Is this news? I'm really confused about this whole story. It's my understanding that Tommy Lee's helicopter came close to a police helicopter. It's not standard practice to "force" an aircraft to land. The pilot of the police helicopter should have filed a near miss report. The NTSB or FAA would investigate. It kind of sounds like the pilot of the police helicopter is trying to exercise his police power.
